I'm curious. When the FCD display spends significant time at 150mpg, is a higher number accumulated, or is the actual data pegged at 150? It would seem that if the actual data is pegged at 150, then a more accurate FE number would be achieved by using the metric mode, which does not peg.

I tried the metric mode, and it seems a bit strange to me since it is calibrated in liters/100km.

Hi, Jim -- the internal calculation is not pegged. You can see this by switching back and forth -- you'll see the average consumption go down in l/100km if you FAS when already at 150+mpg as expected -- the car continues to track in whichever mode you are in but only displays within the constraints of the system chosen. Just be aware that as the numbers get smaller in l/100km the resolution goes down -- converting to mpg shows this with larger and larger jumps between tenths.

Yes, I noticed that, and that is the reason I don't like the metric display very much. Can't really tell what is going at that resoulution.

True... but it may be better than sitting pegged at 150 MPG? Or not, since you probably won't be getting numbers much higher very often... ;)

Hi Jim:

Above 150 and you simply have to go to the low res metric display.

In any case, it sounds like you are having some fun breaching the stratosphere level ;)
