I know the pictures are not the best since the sun is already down, but better late than never I guess. I finally had a chance to air up the tires so I decided to take a few pictures. SO far I'm 80miles into my 1st tank (and it appears that the fuel gauge hasn't moved yet), and currently I'm at about 43.5mpg. I'm a bit ticked off because I dropped the car off at the dealership for that extra paint/cloth/sound/ protection stuff to be applied and it read about 48.8mpg this morning. When I returned after work to get the car the battery was drained and less than a mile was put on it but it was now down to 43.5mpg. To further worsen maters a scratch was placed on the hood sometime today by someone at the dealership and now I will have it dropped off again to have that fixed. It is less than an inch long, but it really bothers me when someone other than me has done it. The tires are now at 45psi and I look forward to driving it to work for the 1st time tomorrow in the AM. I will be taking some pictures of the gauges to show how well/poor I do on the commute.

Congrats, looks very nice... and you did the right thing, check tire press. i haven't check mine since i bought the car.... :(:(:(
You made a nice choice for your driving needs. Don't feel bad about your fuel mileage it is a lot better than what you would be getting in the non hybrid version.

You are right, it is a good choice for what I need. I put the car seats in this morning. There was plenty of room in the back that I didnt have to move my seat forward. In the few days I have had the car, I'm beginning to realize that hypermiling the Fusion is much different than hypermiling the Chevy truck. In the chevy its optimal speed was 40mph, but in the fusion I should be driving slower to take advantage of the EV mode. Since I go to the gym late at night, it is the perfect time to practice my driving.

The FFH pretty much hypermiles by itself and the "Empower" dash mode lets you help it a little. Nurse it in EV the last trip of the day to your overnight parking. The ICE warm up running the first trip of the day will bring the HVB up nicely and efficiently. All the other hypermiling techniques apply except you don't have to shift or push any buttons to do it. It has one of the highest HVB efficiencies at about 97 %. It's not a Prius beater but it's rave driving revues are deserved.

On the way home from work &/or the gym (traffic permitting) it is fun to see how far I can go in EV mode is I roll into the garage. It is annoying for my wife when I spend the last 1/4 mile of any trip going 10-15mph, but she is a very reasonable person. She knows it is important to me so she tolerates it well.
When comparing it to the prius, the FFH feels better, more room for me and the kids, and I just like the looks of the FFH MUCH BETTER!

The dash looks a h**l of a lot better than Prius. To any Toyota Prius engineers: have a look at the first pic, or a Honda Civic Hybrid dash for that matter. The Prius centered-in-dash dim osciloscope display does not cut it.
