A nice supercell just south of Buffalo MN. I was on MN25 looking north. It had some pretty good rotation and a beautiful emerald green core. I heard this thing was throwing down some huge hail, so I didn't want to get too close!

After getting a few shots, I went up to Buffalo on 25, got by the lake and saw the monster shelf from the big storm coming up from the south too quickly.

In the evening I parked near the airport near home and waited for the second line to come through, A very nice looking shelf rolled in and it was pretty green too, but I never saw any hail.

Hi, Michael -- we were driving north between the "shelves" and managed to avoid the hail as well. I heard they were baseball sized!!

 is right! I bet you were driving a little faster than your usual pace when you heard that was heading towards you! ;)

Actually, my wife was driving while I kept an eye on the radar on my iPhone. She always drives faster than my usual pace. ;)

Great pics guys. Brings back memories. We only get what Minnesotans would call a respectable thunderstorm once every couple of years.
