I was almost ready to close the deal, but now they revised the loan terms and want a higher interest rate...bummer.. :(

2011 white and 502A... 97 mile drive from dealer to home, surprised by the inefficient driving by dealership driver; got 23.9 mpgs over those miles...

Congrats on your new car. It's amazing what dealerships can do to the mpg.:(

Most of those miles are very short trip test drives of less than three or four miles in an urban setting.

I think you will be very happy with your new FFH — my wife is still loving hers! :D

I don't know how to post pics, but I'll give it a shot later, I was wrong about the avg mpg, it was 20.9... :( this morning on a 65 mile drive got it up to 26.4, with a trip mpg of 49.4 ( perFCD)... initially did not know where the OBD port was... :(

I would just fill the tank, reset the aFCD, and start fresh. There's no sense averaging in the insanely low dealer fuel economy.

Congrats on the new ride!

The dealer may have driven it only in L mode — that mode uses higher RPM and won't turn the engine off.

^ completely agree.

Congrats on the new ride. If I was in the market today to buy a car Fusion H would certainly would be on the top of my list. Such a fantastic vehicle and one of the stealth hybrid on the market.

I look forward to fantastic numbers from the driver and the car.

Lets grow some leaves on the vines .... ;)

Finally hit the 50 mpg mark on 2 segments ( 1 and 2 miles), as far as i'm seeing, it was better to recharge the pack at the hwy portion and the use the electric motor for the last miles of the drive at city speeds.... getting better day by day... :)

First week with the car is over, 125 miles 2.59 gals used for 48.26 mpgs... not that impressive but it is 20 more than with the srt4.... :)

DTE 555 first fillup...
http://www.cleanmpg.com/photos/data/500/medium/fusion2.jpg
put 16.5 gallons in and only 555 miles??? that will get me 33.64 mpg for the tank... after a 74 mile conmmute the number went up to 580... nice after using almost a gallon and a half :):):)

per the manual "DTE is calculated using a running average fuel economy, which is based
on your recent driving history of 500 miles..." in other words give it time - mine was 740 miles last fillup :)

not sure what car you are 'overfilling' but if its the FFH don't do it, the excess fuel is dumped on the ground - hard on the environment and your pocketbook

it was not an overfill, i was missing one gallon, as far as i know the ffh has a 17.5 gal tank and was able to put in 16.5 ( pump gauge)... it was indicating 30 miles to empty when i decided to do my first refill, i was using the fuel left in the tank by the dealership... so the tank had a gallon left???? and the fuel gauge did not went all the way up, almost, but not all the way... :)
