I'm getting the hang of hypermiling and have been raising my mpg pretty consistently. I'm at around 30-32mpg, and I've got some questions to see why I'm getting what I am and how I can raise it.

I've mentioned that my car has a dented front end. I can't afford to fix it, but I was wondering how badly it was affecting my mileage, so I took a picture.

Next up - tires.
They're inflated, about 35psi measured cold, but I'm confused, because I've heard both that you should measure them cold and warm, and I'm not sure which is correct. Also, the max psi should be on the side of the tire, right?

I had a problem with my muffler, and got the center pipe replaced, but the catalytic converter and the O2 sensor in it need to be replaced. Does anyone know how much these will affect my mileage? I can't afford to get these fixed right now either unfortunately. **** college.

And of course, I need an oil change, but thats just a matter of me being lazy/forgetting about it.

Thanks for any help.

The front end probably isn't a huge deal. Might cost you a little bit at highway speed, but it's really the overall shape of the car that matters. Tire specs are always cold pressure. That goes for manufacturer's specs as well as the max pressure written on the sidewall. The O2 sensor and the catalytic convertor are probably your greatest concern. A bad O2 sensor can really screw up the ECU, causing it to run poorly and suck down fuel. Both play a huge role in emissions, too. And a bad O2 sensor can result in the death of a catalytic convertor.
