Hey there guys!

I have a Honda CBF125, and would like to know if there is a possibility in install a scan gauge. It has PGM-FI, used in other Honda vehicle, but dont know how can i connect..

I am pretty sure you're SOL. I have tried the same thing on my CBR600RR and it doesn't work

I believe that an MPGuino could be made to work if you wired one in. It requires 12V power, ground, injector signal, and VSS.

From what i read, that MPGuino is a DIY device? Need to make the "gauge" as it is, and connect the cables?

Correct. It isn't difficult to put together -- though you can also get a kit that just requires a housing box and the wires patched into your vehicle to be attached to a plug.

My doubt is the speed signal. The speed on the velocimeter is by a cable connected on the wheel, i think there is no speed signal.. what you think?

EDIT:

Just realized that i can use a magnet signal, like bicycles use. It works?

Yes, I would think that could be workable. :)

Daniel,

If you do it, I think there is a high probability you get in a story here.

really thank you guys, i would love to get this on work!

INJ signal, i think its easy...i see 3 or 4 wires connect to the INJ system, maybe connect my multimeter on those wires and see the Volts when i "accelerate"..

VSS, the speed cable used on bicycles..

My best mileage on this motorcycle is 156MPG, and i want to improve it! :)

Double-check the tech info for the inputs your bike's fuel injection system uses. Most systems use vehicle speed as one of the inputs. Not all, but there's at least a decent chance your bike has one.

If not, I don't think the spinning cable will generate a useful signal. I don't know for a fact what kind of signal the MPGuino wants to see, but I wouldn't be surprised if it were some sort of voltage pulse. If you can figure out exactly what it wants, you can set up something (possibly a Hall-effect sensor on the cable, like a Pertronix ignition module). Or you could get an instrument panel from a late-1980s or early 1990s Honda Civic; they used a cable-driven speedometer but the instrument cluster generated the VSS signal from that cable input.

yes, you may be correct on the speed signal, but i think there is no kind of speed signal on this bike, because the speedo is connected by a mechanical cable to the wheel, nothing more can "tell" the ECU what speed the bike goes...

dont know, need to discover a electrical circuit of ECU, but its not that easy..
