Hello Clean MPG members. I just joined this site and would like to introduce myself. I am an Aerospace Mechanical Engineer who enjoys high performance vehicles but also insists on good gas mileage. I have been working on cars and motorcycles for over 35 years with an emphasis on cost effective performance modifications and increased fuel economy. I commute on a Yamaha Warrior 1700cc V-Twin motorcycle that is real fun to drive but still gets 45 to 50 MPG.

I am interested in helping reduce global warming and our dependence on oil. I applaud all of you hypermilers out there. You are a great example what can be achieved with existing technology, ingenuity, and dedication. I have been looking for ways to educate and help everyday people and businesses that use the most fuel (delivery fleets, SUVs, trucks, V8 cars) on how to achieve better fuel economy while we transition to the widespread use of hybrids and alternative fuels.

To that end I helped create a company that sells performance products that increase fuel economy. It contains a section on Maximum Fuel Economy that includes pages on how to set tire pressures correctly, low friction synthetic oils, basic fuel efficient driving methods, repair and maintenance, and other fuel economy tips.

I joined this renowned forum to learn more ways to increase gas mileage. I will appreciate any suggestions your members may have. The company web site is http://www.mpgperformance.com .

Welcome.

A Warrior owner. :)

I was planing on purchasing a new Warrior next month. But seeing I purchased a lot on new furniture for Christmas and new computer hardware of late. The Warrior purchase will have to wait. They are indeed sweet bikes. Don't know if mine would have got 45 to 50 mpg after mods. I do know it would be gut wrenching fast out of the hole tho. :) Hole shots aren't something practiced in hypermiling.
