This morning on TV, Good Morning America (GMA) had a good section on hypermiling. I thought it was very well done. They even showed the Scanguage that measured MPG.

Just watched the link on their website... that gas station is the gouging one (of two) in Orlando mentioned in one of the recent news stories... not surprised no one wants to talk about the gas prices... didn't see the Scangauge though...maybe it was a different bit? Or it isn't uploaded yet and I watched yesterday's clip on gas prices...

I wonder where they got those tips from, they say they got them from hypermilers. Has CleanMPG ever done a bit with GMA? I know they covered HybridFest one year... does anyone know what they might be doing to test those techniques for their show next week?

EDIT - Okay, just saw today's video. Not bad... not very complete though, from our point of view I guess. Could the be the editors as well. Definitely not the worst though. Does anyone know who that hypermiler is?

Could you share the link to it?

I think this is it here - http://abcnews.go.com/GMA/video/putting-gas-tips-to-test-13092871

Overall, not bad at all. None of the usual media drivel about holding up traffic or drafting or being late to work from 'driving so slow'.

Here is a twitter-shortened link... GMA puts gas-saving tips to the test (http://t.co/rONAgox).

EDIT - Man, I'm getting beat a lot today :p

That was slightly painful to watch; they portrayed him as an oddball. But I suppose if it results in a few more people driving a bit more efficiently, it helps. It was particularly annoying to see them using a honking car effect as a transition montage, as that suggested people were honking at him for the way he was driving.

Hi All:

While I have no idea who Mr. Soul is, I think he did an OK job. Hopefully he taught the reporter and video crew a lot more than what was highlighted as there were a number of items missing from the report.

It was a great ad for Scangauge II. It was definitely showcased at the end.

Yes, it was some very good free advertizing for Scangauge II. I still love my Scangauge II, and it has saved me a ton of fuel over the years.

I commented on that article earlier today, but it's gone now. I wish I could remember what I wrote. LOL. I recall saying something about not needing a hybrid. It could be that I put www.CleanMPG.com at the end.
