I've had a SGII for over a year or so.
Almost all the time I have the read out on GAUGE. I read out my CFE, MPG, Water Temp, and GPH most of the time. TPS or LOD at other times.

Mrs. Vangonebuy has shown little to no interest on the abilities of the SGII. Or changing her driving style.

Last week I left it on TRIP $ Current Cost . And a funny thing happened.
The kids were watching the cost count up as we each drove each mile. And the Mrs paid attention also.
She later informed me that it cost $2.12 to go to work. More to come home.
Rattled off other amounts for other trips also.
Every store trip amount was checked by the them all on arrival.

I guess the $$ signs are more a reality then the MPG numbers are to me.
I'm keeping my eyes on the next few tanks and see if the TRIP cost view has any influence on the MPG on the tank.
I'm very hopeful.

To some people, MPG is just "a number", with no ties or meaning. When you convert into dollars spent, it all makes a little more sense to them! :) Different stroke for different folks!
If it works for you, go for it! Just go back and check the MPG numbers, and show the Mrs. the correlation. Maybe you'll get a lighter foot out of her yet! ;)

Thanks for the observation. Mrs. SentraSE-R doesn't give a darn about FE, either. I think I'll switch one of the displayed gauges on her SGII to trip cost, and make a comment about how much money her weekly school commute costs. It might just sink in.
