View Full Version : Super Bowl 45 Chuck 01-23-2011, 07:31 PM I'm jumping the gun, but it looks like Steelers vs Packers Damionk 01-23-2011, 07:47 PM Can I still say Colts? LOL Haven't been able to keep up since we shut off our internet to save some money. But, in the next few weeks we are completely overhauling our finances and will have internet again. ItsNotAboutTheMoney 01-24-2011, 05:27 AM Definitely jumped the gun! I thought Roethlisberger might be losing sleep over turning a touchdown into an interception, but he made some key plays with his legs, including at the end when they used his ability to pass on the move on two key 3rd downs. To me, this one's a tough one to call. Both teams were playing great defensive teams. Both teams had great 1st halves but were shut down in the 2nd half. Both teams can score quickly. I'll give the edge to the Steelers because I think they have better defense overall and I think they'll not have those key problems at center in the Super Bowl, whether the replacement's there or not. (Oops, I accidentally voted Packers) PaleMelanesian 01-24-2011, 11:10 AM Joke: It's said that the British "redcoats" chose the color so the enemy couldn't tell if they were wounded and bleeding. With that in mind, what about the Packers and their yellow pants? lxmike 01-24-2011, 03:07 PM Joke: It's said that the British "redcoats" chose the color so the enemy couldn't tell if they were wounded and bleeding. With that in mind, what about the Packers and their yellow pants? :biglol::biglol: so what are ya trying to say Andrew? :p PaleMelanesian 01-24-2011, 04:10 PM I have no dog in this fight, but that one was too good not to share. :D ALS 01-24-2011, 04:23 PM Wait until the Green Bay offense meets Troy Polamalu. You can bet there will be a brown stripe to go along with the yellow pants. :D Chuck 01-24-2011, 05:00 PM Steelers have yellow - er gold pants too. ;) Lost Wagus favors the Pack by 2.5 points, but I have a long memory of the Steelers two victories over the Cowboys in the 70's. Words Rogers SHOULD NOT say after the Super Bowl: "I'm considering retirement..." :p SD3_Driver 01-24-2011, 08:44 PM Packers will win.... (i hope ) Chuck 02-01-2011, 07:00 PM Local stations in Dallas have reported Steeler hate in sports bars....they get venting Cheeseheads don't. It's less local fans in Dallas are pulling for the Packers, but pulling against the Steelers. The Packers beat the Cowboys twice for the NFL title in the 60's, then the Steelers bested Dallas again twice in the 70's....fans here remember the losses to the Steelers better. Of course in the 90's they could not beat the Cowboys at all. I have no dislike towards either team. The networks must LOVE this matchup that has national followings. Since I have a number of Cheesehead friends down here, I'll pull for the Packers, but my money is on the Steelers - I remember how hard they are to beat in the playoffs. rfruth 02-01-2011, 08:42 PM Steelers all the way - i would consider going if ticket prices weren't nuts  Chuck 02-02-2011, 09:58 PM http://www.bjmadlsigns.com/scrapbook/packer%20car02.jpg http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_PrMTqBqF7SA/TOA3lZrV25I/AAAAAAAACd0/Lhc13taQMsE/s640/269+Steelers+Car.jpg Chuck 02-06-2011, 05:20 PM I don't know the winner, but the loser is definitely Jerry Jones. The weather was not exactly something that could be controled, but seven workers fell off the dome - one critically. Lots of pre-game clubbing was cut back due to the weather. Today, 850 fans were relocated - 400 sent home because Super Bowl seating was not ready (http://nbcsports.msnbc.com/id/3032113/ns/sports/). For months, Jerry Jones wanted to fill every seat, plus 15,000 standing to pack the stadium at 117,000, set a record and pocket the money. The Arlington Fire Marshall has been against it all along and today with the backing of the NFL turned away 400 fans. I think it will be a long time before another Super Bowl comes to North Texas. vBulletin® v3.6.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
