My wife would like me to install a seat heater in her 2010 Insight EX. I'd previously installed a set of Clazzio leather covers which as re very comfortable and keep the car much cleaner when carting our greyhound around. Obviously, they are colder in the winter, though. I'm planning on installing the elements under the original seat material.
My question is that I know seat heater and such tend to have large electrical demands. With the miniscule OEM battery the I2 is equipped with from the factory, will a seat heater have a significant impact on fuel economy or be exceptionally burdensome to the IMA/DC-DC converter? Perhaps using smaller carbon fiber elements would help negate some issues?
