Hi All:

___I not only want to make sure everyone knows about the Madison Hybrid Group meet this coming weekend but that there may be a film crew from the Discovery Channel - Daily Planet covering the event. Both Eric Powers (Madison Hybrid Group) and Bradlee (Milwaukee Hybrid Group) will be orchestrating the gathering for the benefit of all.

___A little background. I was on the phone for over an hour this morning with the Producer of the Discovery Channel’s “Daily Planet” talking about all kinds of environmentally related automobile news and technology as well as some of the events many of us have attended including Hybridfest and the Madison and Milwaukee Hybrid Group Meets. He seemed to enjoy both my enthusiasm and descriptions of the meets in particular and is right now trying to setup a film crew to fly into Madison Friday night for the Saturday get together. I am working but will try and get off. Not sure if this will work on my end or from the Discovery Channel’s side but it will make for an interesting event for all if they do in fact decide to show. There is a 50/50 chance right now and I will keep everyone informed of the outcome by tomorrow morning.

___If you would like to be involved and seen on a TV Article about reducing your carbon footprint with your current choice of automobile and the way you drive it, this is your shot :)

___Good Luck

Hi All:

___I have to run to O’Hare to pick up a member of the Sierra Club Radio for a clinic but the Discovery Channel is definitely going to be at the Madison Hybrid Group Meet this Saturday. Eric is taking the lead in securing an even better location for it as I type! Lots of great things come from the meets for those in the Chicago through Madison and beyond area if you would like to attend. More info later.

___I hope to see some of our membership there this weekend as well.

___Gotta run.

___Good Luck

I'm really going to have to work over my wife to get to go to this. Especially after attending the MiHG meeting then the Auto Show. To drive to Madison might just push her over the top considering I would spend more time in my car than I would in Madison.

Hi Tony:

___You just have to come. Temps will be in the mid 40’s and the Sheraton is right next to the old FE Challenge course. If we get there early enough, we can mark about half of it off and then have some real fun in the Prius’ and Insight’s later on in the day! I don’t think 100 + is possible in a Prius with 40 degree temps but 80 - 90 + should be? Let me know if you are willing as Tom and I were planning on leaving about 06:30 - 07:00 AM. Tom, don’t forget to get here by 06:30 AM and we will have to skip the (2 +) dozen donut purchase this time around :(

___Jared, you are coming, aren’t you? It would be a great day to see what your Prius can do now that you know how to push it. I mentioned your name to Dennis - the host just in case!

___I hope Linda shows with her CVT equipped Insight because I always wanted to drive one of those on the FE Challenge course … just to know kind of what it is worth ;)

___Good Luck

I'll be there. At HF'06 I ended up with 74MPG on the challenge course, and that was starting cold and with a normal SOC (I won't make that mistake at HF'07 :D). IIRC the first half of that course was fantastic 30MPH back roads w/no traffic. I bet 80-90 is possible in these temps.

Hi Jared:

___I look forward to seeing you there and I will try and remember to bring my compressor ;)

___I might have an extra coming along with us out of Mundelein, IL. who contacted me out of the blue by phone a few weeks ago. He owns a Prius I and II and is trying to make arrangements to come up with Tom and myself as well as (hopefully Tony?).

___All, the sites location has changed to the Sheraton right down the street from the HF2006/2007 HF grounds. Not only should it be more convenient but we have conference rooms for the meet at our disposal. We just need a head count. Tom and I make 2 ;)

___Here is the Sheraton’s address:

Sheraton Madison Hotel
John Nolen Dr.
Madison, WI 53713
608-258-9505 706

___And a Mapquest link thanks to Bradlee Fons of the Milwaukee Hybrid Group.

Hi Tony:

___I am very sorry to hear this :(

___I wonder if Ed would be interested?

___Anybody else? Given the location, I have some ideas for some serious clinic time after the meet to get all the new owners and some that just need a refresher moving up, up, and away just as the spring temps help boost our segment and tank averages.

___Good Luck

Hi Eric:

___Another great meet and not nearly enough time to speak with fellow Group members as usual :( And post your pics soon :)

___Spectacular news about Toyota as well!

___As an edit, did you see what Cheryl did today? Re: Week of Mar 5th - Mar 11th, 2007 (http://www.cleanmpg.com/forums/showpost.php?p=22051&postcount=78) :D
