Mazda released a statement last week that they do not comment on speculation when in fact they commented on speculation???

I am still wondering why Mazda decided to say anything?
In Response to Media Reports, today’s news report about a change in the capital tie-up between Ford and Mazda was the result of speculation by the journalist.

Mazda and Ford continue to enjoy a close strategic partnership and there is no change to this relationship. As before, we continue to cooperate in areas of mutual benefit.

We do not comment on speculation.
Remind me not to comment on speculation with a comment about it :D

I refuse to comment on this, but Mazda's statement was phrased to say "We're still buddies" and to avoid saying anything about "capital tie-ups"
