View Full Version : 100mpg hybrid tilting trike concept Sledge 02-16-2007, 10:48 AM Cool http://www.flytheroad.com/ http://i13.tinypic.com/2wg89sm.jpg Chuck 02-16-2007, 11:02 AM I hope it makes it to the showroom! Can it drive under 18-wheelers? :D HCHCIN 02-16-2007, 12:41 PM Cool, but my guess is that it will never meet safety regulations. Even if it did, we're talking a vehicle where your head is bumper-level with just about everything on the road... --RN PaleMelanesian 02-16-2007, 02:11 PM Just wait until Wayne gets one! I bet it can do better than 100mpg in the right hands! tarabell 02-16-2007, 02:39 PM This reminds me a lot of the scooter-rickshaws they have in India. It's basically a motorbike with an enclosure wide enough for 2 people in the back and the driver in front. I hope bmw's version has better shocks. http://airpaharganj.com/images/06-7-29-New-Delhi-old-and-n.jpg Sledge 02-16-2007, 02:43 PM I cannot believe you just compared this to a Tuk Tuk! :D tarabell 02-16-2007, 03:35 PM I cannot believe you just compared this to a Tuk Tuk! I so agree, the Tuk Tuk just outshines every vehicle ever conceived. Add a picture of Vishnu on the back and every “ultimate driving machine” just looks sick next to it. :D :D Chuck 02-17-2007, 11:56 AM This reminds me a lot of the scooter-rickshaws they have in India. It would even get a huge break on the emissions std’s because bikes are only spec’ed to meet something like 2,000% of the current LEV-2 rating of an automobile in all 50 states. Getting hit from the side because it is so low the ground and not seen might be a real problem however? It would be a lot of fun but there would be issues most may not drop down to. Unless gasoline couldn’t be purchased at any cost that is and there was a radical change in our way of thinking about fossil fuels. ___Sledge, nice find and I cannot wait to see one.. ___Good Luck ___Wayne HCHCIN 02-20-2007, 12:29 PM Oh, man, Tuk-tuks are awesome. I had the pleasure of using a great many in Thailand a few years ago, and they are a blast. Sure, the drivers would nearly always take you to a, um, "dance bar" despite your stated destination, but that was half the fun. But getting from one side of the city to the other for 40 cents was the way to go. Some friends and I floated the idea of running a tuk-tuk service in the local bar district. Major problem: definite two-season operation here in Ohio. --RN vBulletin® v3.6.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
