View Full Version : Error accuracy problem
JinTonic 09-28-2010, 08:51 AM Hi,
I've been searching on forum, but didnt find the answer yet. Need some clarification.
Here is the question.
When I go to codes section of Scangauge, on top it says that there are 3 errors.
Now, on the bottom it shows only 1 actual code, other one is P000 and there is no third code.:eyebrow:
So, are there 2 more errors?
What does P000 stand for?
Why does it say 3 errors and shows only one?
Is this normal?

It means you need a more specialized reader to pull those codes. P0000 is ScanGaugeII for "I dunno??". Is it a toyota or honda with more than one on board computer?

Oh, really? That makes sense. So ScanGauge wont pick it?
Car would be Lincoln LS.
What reader then?

Thanks! Mentioned above.
Ophbalance 09-28-2010, 12:14 PM Give autozone or advanced auto a try. They typically pull codes for free. However, failing that, you're going to need dealer support to pull specialized codes.

Lincoln should be the same as Ford. Try going to CMNDS, enter 1800FF00 and hit send. If there is no response then there are multiple codes and you can retrieve them as shown in the FEH DTC thread: http://www.cleanmpg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=21291 assuming your LS is CAN. If not CAN, then the TXD will be different. The SG can be used to get ANY DTC, just takes a little more effort to get non-OBD-II ones.
Ophbalance 09-28-2010, 08:12 PM Carl... do you have any resource for pulling Prius CAN codes? Would it be the same as the FEH?

I think Toyota uses mode $13 for non-OBD-II DTCs. You could try entering 13FF00 in a CMNDS memmory and hit send. To send to a specific ECU (for the CAN Prius there is $7E2 and $7E3 for the Battery and Hybrid ECUs) you would need to code up an xgauge similar to the FEH.
Using CMNDS you will not be able to tell which module responded, but you can extract that info with an xgauge.

Now this is interesting. Would give it a try.
JinTonic 10-01-2010, 07:48 AM In mode its PWM mode. 1800FF00 returned clean space. Are the CMNDs for PWM the same?
