I don't know if you've been looking in the HCH2 hybrid software update threads but I (and others) have not been happy with the changes Honda has been making to the hybrid control software. Two nights ago while watching TV I saw 0.9% financing for the 2010 Prius. Last night I visited a dealership and signed the papers using the HCH2 for trade in. Hopefully by the end of today a brand new blizzard pearl 2010 Prius IV with solar sunroof and nav will be on the road.

Bye bye, Honda. I liked you in 2006 but you've changed. I guess what I'm trying to say is... don't let the door hit you on the ass on the way out :D :D

I'm sad to hear you are now dissatisfied by the functionality of your HCH, but congrats on the new car!

Note to myself: report on my IMA rebuild later on.

Yesterday I had a 20 miles commute and still got 92 mpg even with a recal.

My last three cars were Hondas: a 1988 Accord LXi, a 2001 Civic EX, and a 2006 HCH2. Their service has taken a huge nosedive with this current car and I'm not talking about dealerships.

Hi Sledge:

Congrats on the 10 Prius with most of the fixins! I am sorry to see the HCH-II go the way of a trade-in but it was probably inevitable. What the Prius loses on the highway, it makes up far more around town and you will surely become accustomed to its own unique qualities in no time at all.

All said and done, you are going to love your new Prius :D

Please post pics as soon as it arrives too!

Good Luck

Wayne

A few weeks ago I was dreaming about a used prius to replace my wife's car, so I could learn a new car and have fun at it.

I which you a lot of fun to learn your prius III, and congrats for the solar sunroof

Have fun,

Denis.

Now I just need to find a place that will install a trailer hitch on my car so I can use my bike rack.

Shouldn't be a problem on the rack. If you have any trouble, there are threads on the subject over at priuschat.

I don't own a floor jack and jackstands and I don't want to buy them if I only end up using them once.

55 mph with the cruise on and no AC 62-64 mpg :D

If Wayne's driving 70 mpg. :p

That seems low... I usually pull 58-65 in the Raleigh area with A/C on with the cruise set to 61 MPH. And that's with a Gen II. Then again, you're in Western PA have mountains to contend with... NC is nice and flat by comparison ;).

It's sitting in my garage now. On the way home I averaged something like 75+ mpg. Granted it was only 10 miles or so but I had that little "eco" light lit up most of the way home. :)

Congrats on your purchase. Great choice on color and package. We have the same! Solar roof powered fan helps and we use the sunroof quite a bit around town.

Congrats on the new ride bro! I'm still an HCHII owner so I'm going to watch your posts carefully now to see how your mileage and experience varies in the new car.

Idle thought: I wish HONDA would watch this...

Hi Sledge:

One very nice looker!!!

Regarding the FE, hopefully yours is one of those that is dead on. Early FCD's over reported by as much as 6 mpg. Later ones, 3 and later ones, much closer to dead on. A marketing gimmick for sure but something I am very interested in hearing after a top off to top off tank or maybe 5 to 7 first click tanks.

Good Luck

Streamline wheels would do more for my liking? Still a very nice car and choice of color. H

Is that pearl or solid white? I'm partial to the latter, but pearl white looks pretty sharp.

I'll be using the old tried and true odometer and gallons-to-fill-tank method when I start documenting MPG. I never go by the FCD.

It's Blizzard Pearl.
