Brammo, makers of the Enertia powercycle, have announced their second generation Empulse motorcycle will be on sale and ready for delivery in 2011.

The sportbike-styled Empulse promises sustained 100MPH speed in addition to a true range of up to 100 miles.

The Empulse will have any one of 3 battery packs, with 60, 80, and 100 mile ranges.

Prices will range from $9,995 to $13,995 excluding tax credits.

100 mile range? Not quite there yet, but getting better...
And how long does it hold its range? The 5yo battery in my phone couldn't make it for a single day without a recharge, so I had to replace it. If EV batteries work the same way it would mean a 15 mile range at most at the age of 5, instead of the marketed 100 :eyebrow:
100 miles range is not for touring yet, but definitely remarkable. 15 miles range is a bad joke :(
Many of you have hybrids - can you tell me how their batteries hold their capacity over the years?

Other than that, I'd really like to ride an EV. Depending on the infrastructure it can be very sustainable :)

I got the email from Brammo too. Impressive is what I thought. Motorcycles capitalize on the very high power density of an ICE. Getting decent power and commuting range is quite a challenge in such a compact vehicle. It's basically a cool looking battery pack on two wheels.

Nice job from the styling department. It is miles ahead of the current offering.

Now for the complaint: Can we see some great aerodynamics people?

Hi All:

The kick @$$ item about the Empulse is its starting price for the 100 + mph, 60-mile AER bike at $9,995. Zero Motorcycles now has a true road worthy competitor vs. the 09 Zero-S we reviewed late last year and the updated 10 Zero-S with the 18 mph top speed bump at 70 or so mph.

And of course it is a much nicer looking bike than the hideous Enertia. That thing was FUGLY.

Beatr911, these naked bikes nowadays

Marc, thanks for posting!
