my 2010 fit forgets to engage the transmission after coasting about 20% of the time. I place the shifter into D and the car acts like it is in neutral. It almost never does it from a dead start. I'm afraid to take it to the dealer, as they will tell me I am abusing the car and nulify my waranty. Has anyone else had this problem? 34-38 mpg city and 41-44 mpg with engine off coasting. thanks

Huh?? If Honda heard you they would being doing hand stands and high fives, LOL. What year, is it still within the Powertrain Warranty period? Have no fear: bring it in!

After what I saw with my last Accord (both how it lasted and how Honda treated me when it was not), I'd never get a Honda Automatic trans. Design is inconsistent with the expected Honda quality. Mean while, the 5 speed manual is fine. An option is to ditch that one and get one with a stick. Beside reliability they are WAY more capable.

pco, your mileage chart looks upside down! I'm guessing mild winters and AC in the summer?

A/C lol nope. The diff is the lack of High speed P&G that I cut out when it 95F+ in the wheel house.

Ah, of course. That clearly shows the power of P&G.
