Took a 2000 mile vacation trip and want to share what I measured on my wifes Camry. On the few tanks I have measured, it was a mid 20's FE car so was not expecting too much but no one wanted to go in my more capable Fit.
800 mile trip each way, from SE FL to Western NC. 70mph CC AC. big 4 cylinder automatic. Was not alloyed to do any FE betterment methods.

Car turned in a surprising 35mpg going up and 37mpg+ coming down and into a decent head wind. 16% better then EPA hiway:Banane13:

Toyota cars can really turn in some great numbers on over the road trips if you keep your foot out of the throttle and "feel" the engine. My wife had a Solara a few years ago and it was easy to smoke the EPA for the car.

I own 1993 Toyota Camry V6 AT, was able to do 40-42 MPG trips (not tank average since my wife uses it [20 mpg average driver]). It's easy to hypermile in those cars.

Hi Paul:

After the trip was over, do you wish you would have driven the Fit or the Camry?
