Right Lane Cruiser 06-28-2010, 06:20 AM Welcome back!
I found most of the red lights on my route.

LinuxGold 06-28-2010, 07:26 AM I *FINALLY* got to drive my wife's car, Toyota Camry to work today.
34.45 MPG
23.55 miles
Still looking for 2nd car...
epurvee 06-28-2010, 08:08 AM Another good morning commute. Had a decent commute back home from work as well
31.7 MPG / 11.0 Miles home to work.
27.6 MPG / 13.0 Miles work to home
PaleMelanesian 06-28-2010, 09:15 AM 89.4 this morning.
I got a finger this morning. I'm doing 40 in the right lane out of 3, in a 50 zone. I have a turn coming up. Heavy traffic to the left of me, so a truck and trailer hops into my lane to pass them. I'm already there, but he jams up to my tail and gives me the light-and-finger show. whatever, dude.

Ack.. good morning to start with huh? =)
PaleMelanesian 06-28-2010, 10:14 AM Eh. He didn't stop me from getting good mileage. ;)
Gas-x 06-28-2010, 10:46 AM My favorite are the ones who pass you on a 2 or 3 lane highway just shaking their heads. When you aren't even affecting them a bit but they still have something to say..... I just wave hi and motor on!
PaleMelanesian 06-28-2010, 12:58 PM Home for lunch. Engine warmed up. Hot out - 90+ degrees and well over 100 in the car.

:woot: Congrats!
Right Lane Cruiser 06-28-2010, 03:05 PM Nice work, Andrew!! :woot:
Today just isn't my day. Heavy headwinds combined with that faster, gapless traffic we all hate to encounter... plus the dang resurfacing gravel that seems to be the bane of my existence every blasted summer. :ccry: They've graveled nearly my entire Anoka bypass route!! :ccry:
69F, 17-26mph headwind from the NNW, sunny:
108.1mpg for 22.6mi (Work to home)
The tank is back down to 114.2mpg over 1167.6mi with 7 of 20 bars remaining on the fuel gauge.
Day Total: 110.6mpg over 45.0mi
Die2self 06-28-2010, 07:04 PM home>work
- 24.8 / 13.4 miles (71F Calm)

Right Lane Cruiser 06-29-2010, 06:15 AM A bit better this morning even if it was cooler.
55F, 3mph cross/tailwind from the N, clear:
118.4mpg for 22.4mi (Home to work)
The tank is back up to 114.4mpg over 1190.0mi with 7 of 20 bars remaining on the fuel gauge.
epurvee 06-29-2010, 07:54 AM Well it looks like I can consistently get over 31 MPG on my way to work. There are no better routes going home than the one I am on so I might have to live with it.
Except that I got a good trip going home, and then that was destroyed by having to take my wife and daughter to an event where I had to have the AC on, and my wife will complain incessantly about my driving slow, and to maintain my sanity from her constant nagging, I did speed.
31.6 MPG / 11.0 Miles home to work
29.6 MPG / 13.0 Miles work to home
21 MPG / 12.3 Miles home to event
20.3 MPG / 12.5 Miles event to home
PaleMelanesian 06-29-2010, 08:07 AM 31 in that van is very good.
----------------
I had an unexpected run to a store on the way home, with higher speed routes and traffic.
71.8 mpg / 5.1 miles to the store
76.7 / 7.8 home
93 / 10.6 this morning. That was a record until last week.
The tank is steady at 81.5 / 910 miles. That's my third best distance. Showing the low side of 1/4 on the gauge.
epurvee 06-29-2010, 12:32 PM Yes, it is very difficult to get better than that. One of the things that helps me are two long gradual downhills that I can go down in N. Coming home the very best I've been able to do is 28.x with 27.x more common. On a long trip I might be able to get a large distance right at 32-34, but that would be if I could do 45-50 with very minor terrain features and no stops. Cruising the van does well. Accelerating, even when being careful, is what kills the mileage.
diamondlarry 06-29-2010, 01:41 PM Ended up driving today. May have to drive tomorrow too. Today's average was 94.8 mpg.
77.8 1.1
121.4 1.1
Right Lane Cruiser 06-29-2010, 02:57 PM Durn traffic! Durn gravel making me find more traffic!! :p Grrr.
At least the temperature was pleasant.
67F, 5mph head/crosswind from the N, sunny:
117.2mpg for 22.0mi (Work to home without any bypasses)
The tank is steady at 114.4mpg over 1212.1mi with 7 of 20 bars remaining on the fuel gauge.
Day Total: 117.7mpg over 44.5mi
diamondlarry 06-29-2010, 06:42 PM Did a little more driving. I had to go to the gas station. No silly, for my mom; she was out of gas for her lawnmower.:p:D I will be filling up again on Friday as we are going to Cincinnati to visit my daughter's boyfriend's parents.
77.8 1.1-to work(without benefit of block heater-for some odd reason the breaker for that part of the garage had tripped:mad:)
121.4 1.1-back home
96.3 8.6-to gas station
108.5 8.6-back home
Average for today was 101.2 over 19.4 miles.

Day total: 47.7mpg over 64 miles
The tank is up to 46.7mpg over 71.1 miles with 11.5 gallons remaining.
Die2self 06-29-2010, 09:23 PM home>work

If I can keep the wind away and the rain away this may be a VERY good tank to start the Summer challenge with. :Banane18:
Right Lane Cruiser 06-30-2010, 06:09 AM Larry, I hate when that happens. :(
Dan, nice work dude!
Way to to, Jason!! :woot:
I don't expect to drive today... I'm working from home because I've got another one of those eye appointments right down the street from my house.
LinuxGold 06-30-2010, 07:21 AM From Home to McDonalds (For breakfast)
35.24 mpg / 20.94 miles (185.47% of EPA)

PaleMelanesian 06-30-2010, 08:05 AM Wow. Everyone's hitting home runs!
My trip home was :(. 74.0 mpg / 10.5 miles. I had a headwind and a poor start, from which I never fully recovered.
This morning was better. 88.9 / 10.5.
The tank is still at 81.5 / 944 miles. Well below 1/4 now. Until last tank, that would be a record distance. It's looking good for another kilo+.
epurvee 06-30-2010, 08:55 AM Good morning commute, not as good on the way home
32.3 MPG / 11.0 Miles home to work

113.5mpg for 22.4mi (Home to work)
The tank is steady at 114.4mpg over 1234.5mi (no, I did *not* make that up!!) with 6 of 20 bars remaining on the fuel gauge.

LinuxGold 07-01-2010, 06:59 AM 65° F Clear
Wind: From NNW at 4mph
35.68 mpg / 23.06 miles
epurvee 07-01-2010, 07:57 AM Commute to work wasn't as good this morning. I feel like such a hypocrite for complaining about this, but there was a pickup truck going so slow on the down hill (I was doing 40 MPH at the time in a 45 and he was doing 35 down this hill) and had to break. I could then not get up the ensuing hill in 4th gear as my transmission down shifted, which destroyed my chances of 32. Not a bad leg but disappointing. Ride home went pretty good.
30.7 MPG / 11.0 Miles home to work.
29.0 MPG / 13.0 Miles work to home.
PaleMelanesian 07-01-2010, 08:01 AM 80.4 home last night. Strange gusty side-wind with light sprinkles, I think from an outer band of the hurricane.
91.4 this morning.
The tank sits at 81.5 / 973 miles. I saw the first hint of Low Fuel light on an extended uphill. That's a couple miles farther than it happened last tank.
Right Lane Cruiser 07-01-2010, 01:51 PM 81F, 16-21mph tail/crosswind from the SSW, sunny:

Day Total: 116.3mpg over 41.9mi
Right Lane Cruiser 07-01-2010, 02:32 PM Even gravel followed by roads in the process of being ripped up couldn't hold me back today! :D
84F, 12-20mph wind from the SSE, sunny:

The tank is still steady at 114.4mpg over 1258.2mi with 6 of 20 bars remaining on the fuel gauge.

Right Lane Cruiser 07-02-2010, 06:20 AM I had a few things working against me this morning. I forgot to plug in the EBH yesterday :o, typical heavy Friday traffic, and a headwind I could swear was more than the weather service claimed. :p
64F, 10mph cross/headwind from the S, clear:
110.2mpg for 22.4mi (Home to work)
The tank is steady at 114.4mpg over 1280.6mi with 5 of 20 bars remaining on the fuel gauge.

:P

aaronl 07-03-2010, 08:47 PM Wow, summer weather is making a difference. I wasn't even paying attention to the ScanGauge today until I glanced down and noticed absurd numbers. Hit 79 MPG at a stop sign at a freeway onramp a few miles from home. I don't think I've seen anything higher than 65 MPG there before except with a warm engine. I maintained 70 MPG to my destination. Enjoyable drive, too, thanks to helpful advice from CleanMPGers.
LinuxGold 07-06-2010, 09:55 AM Didn't drive my Camry today. Plan to replace slow leaking radiator today.
