89.4 this morning.

I got a finger this morning. I'm doing 40 in the right lane out of 3, in a 50 zone. I have a turn coming up. Heavy traffic to the left of me, so a truck and trailer hops into my lane to pass them. I'm already there, but he jams up to my tail and gives me the light-and-finger show. whatever, dude.

My favorite are the ones who pass you on a 2 or 3 lane highway just shaking their heads. When you aren't even affecting them a bit but they still have something to say..... I just wave hi and motor on!

Nice work, Andrew!! :woot:

Today just isn't my day. Heavy headwinds combined with that faster, gapless traffic we all hate to encounter... plus the dang resurfacing gravel that seems to be the bane of my existence every blasted summer. :ccry: They've graveled nearly my entire Anoka bypass route!! :ccry:

Well it looks like I can consistently get over 31 MPG on my way to work. There are no better routes going home than the one I am on so I might have to live with it.
Except that I got a good trip going home, and then that was destroyed by having to take my wife and daughter to an event where I had to have the AC on, and my wife will complain incessantly about my driving slow, and to maintain my sanity from her constant nagging, I did speed.

31.6 MPG / 11.0 Miles home to work
29.6 MPG / 13.0 Miles work to home
21 MPG / 12.3 Miles home to event
20.3 MPG / 12.5 Miles event to home

31 in that van is very good.

----------------
I had an unexpected run to a store on the way home, with higher speed routes and traffic.
71.8 mpg / 5.1 miles to the store
76.7 / 7.8 home
93 / 10.6 this morning. That was a record until last week.

The tank is steady at 81.5 / 910 miles. That's my third best distance. Showing the low side of 1/4 on the gauge.

Yes, it is very difficult to get better than that. One of the things that helps me are two long gradual downhills that I can go down in N. Coming home the very best I've been able to do is 28.x with 27.x more common. On a long trip I might be able to get a large distance right at 32-34, but that would be if I could do 45-50 with very minor terrain features and no stops. Cruising the van does well. Accelerating, even when being careful, is what kills the mileage.

Wow. Everyone's hitting home runs!

My trip home was :(. 74.0 mpg / 10.5 miles. I had a headwind and a poor start, from which I never fully recovered.

Commute to work wasn't as good this morning. I feel like such a hypocrite for complaining about this, but there was a pickup truck going so slow on the down hill (I was doing 40 MPH at the time in a 45 and he was doing 35 down this hill) and had to break. I could then not get up the ensuing hill in 4th gear as my transmission down shifted, which destroyed my chances of 32. Not a bad leg but disappointing. Ride home went pretty good.

30.7 MPG / 11.0 Miles home to work.
29.0 MPG / 13.0 Miles work to home.

Wow, summer weather is making a difference. I wasn't even paying attention to the ScanGauge today until I glanced down and noticed absurd numbers. Hit 79 MPG at a stop sign at a freeway onramp a few miles from home. I don't think I've seen anything higher than 65 MPG there before except with a warm engine. I maintained 70 MPG to my destination. Enjoyable drive, too, thanks to helpful advice from CleanMPGers.
