MaxxMPG 06-16-2010, 12:18 AM I'm no Insight expert - the others will chime in soon - but I think it's safe to say that it needs some research before you can arrive at a fair price. You'd want to know if there are any trouble codes stored, whether the HV battery was ever replaced, whether all necessary powertrain software updates were completed, whether the CVT fluid was changed on (or ahead of) schedule, with the proper Honda fluid, and what the lifetime FE shows (indicates if it was babied or beaten). Also, because of the aluminum body, you will want to avoid an Insight with obvious indications of past collision damage, unless you have records of it being properly repaired. The body structure doesn't lend itself to being "banged out and prettied up". And finally, look for any evidence of it being a flood car - sand or silt under the carpets or seats or in body seams. If it was under water at any point, it will have all sorts of electrical issues that may or may not be dormant while the car is for sale. Now, on to the Insight mavens to share their far greater knowledge of the car and its powertrain... vBulletin® v3.6.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
