Tonight I walk out with a few of my employees at closing time and see one of them get into a 2005 Toyota Corolla. I said is this your new car and she said yes we got rid of the Explorer. The Explorer was a 1996 or 1997 and the used Corolla they picked up only has 14K miles on it. Poof instant 100% increase in fuel mileage. :) Talking about the $30-$35 a month I'm spending on gas is starting to hit home with a few people around me. Sooner or later they all come around when it comes time to replace their vehicles.
So now at work we have
2 Hyundai Elantra's, came from a Chrysler Mini Van and a Nissan Altima
1 Acura TSX, came from a Grand Prix
2 Corolla's, came from an Explorer and a Sebring 6 cylinder
1 Focus came from an Escort
1 Kia Sorento came from an Isuzu Rodeo
1 Kia Sedona came from an Oldsmobile Alero
1 Blazer came from a Grand AM
1 Tundra V8, unknown
1 Monte Carlo came from a Hyundai Elantra. (Bad timing belt, got rid of car due to dealer refusing to pull head to check for internal damage).
1 Prius came from Volvo Turbo
Those Blazer and Tundra owners are going to be the tough ones to convert to something more economical.
