I have them setup. I purchased these two Acer Lcd's from Sears of all places. They price matched Newegg, $50.00 discount for using my Sears card and free UPS Blue Label shipping. :)

AL2017:

20" standard screen. A nice big bright pretty work space. Its DVI or VGA with little cheezy speakers. 600:1 contrast. 8ms refresh. I have it on a old MSI FX5200 DVI. Graphis and Text are great. Color balance and contrast are better than expected. Easy on the eyes and a real joy to have.

AL2016:

20" wide screen. A nice presentation. Not a work space for me at all. The wide screen is nice! But not my liking for day in and out use. This will be the anchor for a budding multimedia pc. 600:1 contrast. 8ms refresh. It is on a old gforce2 Ti card. Not enough card for this monitor. The FX5200 in the other machine handles it very well indeed. This unit only has standard vga input.

Ive ran both these monitors on my best card and they look great! Both have the ability to knock your socks off. No dead pixels on either panel. Text and graphics look great on both of them. Also of note on the AL2017. I cant tell the difference between output one the vga or dvi.

Now I need to score a new video card. Some more ram. The media pc is based on a Abit NF7-S with a XP2500-M overclocked to 2.5ghz. My daily work station is a MSI Platinum 754 with a old New Castle core 1800 running at 2.5ghz. I also have my old tried and true P4 Northwood on a Albatron board. its a 2.0a running at 2.8ghz on water. Its my safe. I want something secure and private. Its on there...

Heres some pics of the new monitors and there machines.

Hi Psy:

___Christmas came a bit early to Psy’s household! Beautiful LCD’s if I do say so myself :)

___A friend of mine codes the SW DVD player called TheaterTek and he just finished up a 2 day for just $29.95. Missed it myself but it will come around again. The best add-on for a Media PC money can buy with a 6200 or later Nvidia card imho.

___Good Luck

Whew

Stayed up late into the morning. MY old p4 2.0a has been a little flakey the last few months. I had to drop the overclock back down to the 2.2 to 2.4 area. Power supply rails are steady and on voltage. I had decieded the old northy had been run to long and to hard.

Last night I figured I would check it all out again and see if it would even post at its old high of 3.2 ghz. Nothing not even a flicker of power or harddrive lights.

I thought maybe the mother board has got strange. I have a brand new Albatron 845G chip set board in the box. It has built in graphics, lan, video, ata-133 raid and a host of other goodies. a full featured board from days gone by.

So off I went into the heart and soul of my beloved old school p4 machine. Got the mother board swap done and then cleaned up the EXOS water cooling unit. Fired her up all fine. Loaded up some drivers and off we went. Its aty a stable overclock of 2.7 ghz @100% cpu load. Got the cpu voltage set at 1.625v. Cmos is reporting 120f on die. But that cantbe trusted at all on Albatron boards.

Anyway 2.8+ ghz should be in the bag. And my old Northy lives again. :)

Wayne I will most likely purchase a 6800XT 256 mg XFX or BFG for my main work station and move the FX5200 into media duty.
