(Finally able to take a deep breath, now that all the Christmas preparations are done with!)

It was in the mailbox when I opened the door to our company - my step-son, his fiancee, & our granddaughter - so all I could do was open the box & make sure it had arrived safely. I had to wait until 9PM:eek: before I could take a closer look & start working my way through the manual.

I want to get it installed before we have to leave today - any pointers, you other FEH drivers? I think I found the port just by feeling around the other day - it's below the dash, to the left of the steering column? I think I can get the engine info from the sticker, & the gas tank holds 15 gallons? Anything else that's specific to the FEH? And what do you normally set to display?

My husband hasn't asked about it yet, but I'm waiting;) I was hoping to get it while he was out working, & have it installed for a couple of trips before he knew about it, just to prove that it isn't *really* one more distration...

I think, once it *is* installed, I will have to do like I did when I started exploring hypermiling techniques - just pick one thing at a time to concentrate on, until I'm familiar with it & know what information I want to have available as I drive.

I feel like I've *really* joined the club now!:D :D :D

Congratulations Debbie

Still have my old one waiting for the new interface to come out to buy the new style. Their 4 months late now and I’m wondering if they gave up on it. Anyone heard anything?

What I did when I first got mine was plug it in and wrap the cord around the steering shaft 2 times and temporally put it on the dash (velcro) over the navi. You might want to try it in a few places before mounting it in a final location.

Go to set-up to set the engine size, tank size (I use 15 gallons), type of fuel (select Hybrid), and set the system to CAN Bus and high speed if I remember right. You might want to keep it on the 4 gauge display to get a feel for instant MPG, coolant temp, engine load (you can see at 99% load the electric motor assist after warm-up) and I’d try open loop for starters. Always reset the tank refill after fill-up and press “Done”. The mileage trip automatically starts with a new current trip MPG average after a few minutes from a shutdown. The next screen automatically keeps your today average MPG. Same thing with previous day MPG average and the next push of the button shows your tank MPG average from the time you pressed reset refill. Your going to love the Trip information once you start understanding the SG.

You will now understand a lot more about improving FE and what’s bad for FE.

Good luck and Merry Christmas!

Congratulations on the new SG! I have mine set to open/closed loop, mpg, TPS(throttle position sensor), and the fourth gauge I change back and forth between the other functions. I bet we see 40+ lmpg now. :)
