View Full Version : What do the 'fuel type' names mean in the mileage logs satchel 04-01-2010, 04:34 PM What does 'straight gas', 'winter RFG', 'summer RFG', etc mean in the mileage logs? xcel 04-08-2010, 02:39 PM Hi Satchel: ___There are different formulations of gasoline in different parts of the country at different times of the year. Winter RFG w/ E-10 for example has the lowest BTU/gallon content and is the worst fuel for FE vs. straight non-RFG w/ no ethanol gasoline. I believe you can still find the latter in some of the Gulf Coast states as well as OK possibly. Southern States usually do not see Winter RFG but continue with a summer RFG with a different Vapor Pressure to reduce evaporation. Summer “fuel” is better non-E10 is even better than that. ___Good Luck ___Wayne vBulletin® v3.6.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
