It was in Needles, CA. I couldn't believe the prices, so I went to another exit, and everyone in town was charging $3.70/gallon for regular unleaded. If you were hoping gas prices weren't going to go up this summer, fuhgedaboudit.
Hi Darrell:
___I know Needles is in the middle of nowhere as that is where the 48-state run ended two years back but $3.70 per??? That has got to wake some people up?

Move to the middle of the country...not the cheapest, but in north central Indiana it's a buck less.
Hi ATaylor:
___I believe Darrell was just passing through. Californian's "on average" are paying something like $3.07 per gallon and with Needle's being located between absolutely nothing, those stopping in are going to pay a bit more than average.
___When coming back from AZ earlier in the month, I did not begin seeing good prices until I got to MO. Anything along the highway appeared to be a bit more than the prevailing averages as well :(

It all depends on what route you take through Missouri. Right on the Interstates, prices are a little high, right on the US and state highways it's middle-of-the-road price, and off the main drags it drops another 5-7 cents. The bad part is that the ones off the main drags don't have "top tier" gas. That's why I fill up on Highway 50. That and the station is 3.5 miles from the house and my normal stop in the mornings.
