That would be perfect for carrying in the back of my Insight for short trips!!!

Seems the price will be enough to buy a full electric motorcycle, though. :(

Perhaps I should just learn to ride a unicycle...

So the battery must be many 150 watt hours maybe 10 lbs-can you go 1 mile on 25watt hours?A Prius battery is 1500 and 90 lbs-so I'm guessing the numbers.

It is weird looking and lighter than a bike.Roughly 4x faster than a brisk walking pace.

Guess I should have checked the price.

PS Checked the price-$5000 or so.This will be DOA in the suburbs/rural areas (too slow+ DMV regs+ expensive+ dangerous.), but maybe OK in cities.I wonder how well it brakes? Can't brake very violently because you can't brace with your hands very well like a bike or a MC.You would pitch forward a bit.

STM the steering would be weird with the hands down low and steering the rear wheel apparently. Also if the battery goes dead there are no pedals. Might work better if there were pedals and the battery were used for assist.

I'd prefer something like this:

Weight is slightly more (24lbs vs 22) but price is much less: $1100. Probably about the same size folded???

I have a Dahon folding bike which I have used a lot. It's probably heavier than the Bike Friday and has only 7 speeds and fatter tires, but it cost $650 as I recall. And folds as quickly (15 seconds) as the Yike.

Still, for me for getting from A to B on pavement nothing beats a road bike with high pressure tires and good brakes.

Lightfoot- right, you can get a 20" wheeled Dahon for as little as $450 delivered, and a 26" Dahon for maybe the same $450. They are both about 30 lbs-the 20" folds smaller of course, but not as small as that $5000 "bike". Still, $5000 is a lot of money.Folks old enough to waste $5000 on it won't be athletic enough to use it.Younger folks would do just fine with a Dahon(except for the sweaty clothes).
