Anybody have any experience with there PF-9, P-11 or P-40 pistols? I'm interested in these pistols because they are rat guns with a very deep conceal mission and some bite. I can carry many compacts to full sized pistol's. But I prefer deep concealment. Also NAA little 22 revolvers. I'm intrested in there 22 mag units with the 1 5/8" to 2" barrels.

Thank You

I have a P3AT. It's a .380, and it's tiny. I had problems with jams at first. I shot 200 rounds (blisters) to break it in, no luck. I sent it back and they fixed it. I'm now very happy with it. It is my most common carry gun. Take a look at the Barretta .380.

Many, many years ago I had one of the truly tiny 22 short NAA 5 shot pistols. It actually was well made and shootable. You held the grip with your middle finger and pulled the trigger in the normal way. I'm guessing it shot a 29 grain bullet about 400-500 fps out of a 1" barrel. I would guess the 22 mag 2" would get almost 1000fps with a what 40 grain bullet. It would have a bit of kick/blast, but it would be holdable.
I would think it would be a useful gun-really concealable.

A buddy of mine who keeps track of these things says the little Kel-tecs are jam prone-same story on the little Berettas in 32 and 380 cal. I have had several 22 Berettas-flip barrel models--the old 22 short-jetfire?? and currently a nickle plated double action Mod 21 long rifle. They are light and reliable.
When a small gun has to manipulate a big cartridge, it becomes more sensitive to ammo and to how stiff/firm your grip is. Current story I hear is that all the really tiny 380's are finicky in respect to feeding.
The bigger Commie "380s" 9mm Makarovs(.362 cal nominally I think, but can shoot .355 bullets just fine usually) are generally reliable, but huge next to the really small 380's.

I have the P11 9mm. I have had it to the range a number of times and have run approx 1,000 rounds through it. I had a grand total of one failure to eject. Otherwise, it has been totally reliable. It is light and very concealable. I have no complaints and would buy it again in a heartbeat.
Like most small light pistols, it is not a great range gun. After about 100 rounds, it starts to wear on you and beats you up a little. Kel tec will install a lighter trigger spring if you wish, that would help.
As a CCW, it's a good choice.

I also have a P3AT. Its a great little gun and hides well. The only down side is that it does jam every once in a while. It also shoots a little high to the right from a distance. But this really is not a distance gun.

I also have a Glock 26. Its a nice small 9mm but just a tad too big for me to hide and still be comfortable. With this gun I can can hit just about anything from a distance. I almost dont even have to aim.

Those of you having FTF or FTE issues may want to check into doing a "fluff and Buff" on your Kel Tec. Like i said in my previoous post, mine has been jam free, but some who report issues recommend this procedure

I've put almost 800 rounds through my PF-9 including retail and my reloads, <<<< Some very hot indeed. Only issue was the firing pin/ectractor screw backing out. New parts on the way from Kel-Tec. I like the pistol.

The P11 was my second choice (very nice pistol), I ended up going with SR9 which is fairly slim, but not as compact as the P11. I personally would not go with the Kel-Tec as they are not as reliable as most of the brands out there. I looked at them as well, as they were the best priced at $250, but in the end I spent the extra $100 to get a pistol I or my wife can always rely on. I also like the Walther P22, use that one mainly for target practice, but not sure if that would work for what you are looking for.

I have 2 other small to tiny handguns.A double action nickle plated M-20 22 Beretta-flip top barrel.I also have a Baby Browning 25 caliber-reasonable reliable and really tiny for an automatic.

Of course you have to be a GREAT SHOT LIKE ME-and be accurate enough to shoot your target dead in the eye to carry such a low energy pistol (40-50 lb-ft energy).

I'm kidding of course-they are better than nothing and better than a knife, but not a first choice-especially if you have a carry permit.

So Kel Tec stands behind their pistols(good to know), but the pistols are a little bit iffy.It is hard to make a small gun reliably load and fire a big cartridge. I also have a Glock 27 very reliable-lotta bullets(13 with the spacer grip-11 with the little slightly longer than stock clip) but it is fairly bulky.

I also have a J-frame 38 that prints as a wallet with a Kramer holster. You do have to slightly deepen your blue jeans pocket to properly carry it in a front pocket. Not wild about the horsehide-reminds me to much of our greyhounds(but I'm keeping the holster)

Not sure what it is that makes the Kel-Tec "iffy" 1000+ rounds with only one FTE is reliability i will stake my life on(and i do).
I read some not so flattering things about the Kel Tec on the internet after i bought mine and i was thinking"oh crap". but after living with it, shooting it, and stripping/cleaning it a bunch of times, i am satisfied.
Still wouldn't mind getting a J frame though.

Blackbelt- maybe iffy is a bit strong-here we have
1)southerncanucks had problems until he sent it back
2) Blackbelt- you- pretty much no problems
3)The Force "jams once in a while"
4) psyshack- extractor screw backing out after some "very hot indeed" home brewed reloads-so maybe no big deal

This little survey probably means it is at least as reliable as an average tiny 380.Like I said it is hard to get a little gun to feed a big cartridge. I remember the early Beretta 32 autos-Tomcat maybe- folks paid over list for early ones and they were TERRIBLE reliability wise. I hope they are better now. It was one of the first really tiny autos that wasn't a 22 or a 25.

Kel TEC probably better than average, but iffy only compared to say a Glock 26,27- which are huge by comparison. The J Frames with the right holster are reasonably compact-and some just 11 ounces.Stilll they are bulkier than the little 380.

Went to a gun show 2 weeks ago.I should have bought that underwear holster-thunderwear?? Good idea- if a little offputting.
