If you think the VW L1 (or its experimental predecessor, the 1-liter car) got good fuel economy, check out what a bee gets:

I wonder if they FAS, or Pulse and Glide? Or maybe they just use lots of DWL...

If mpg is proportional to weight, then...
0.2 g bee
381 kg VW
5,000,000 mpg / 1900 = 2631 mpg, or about what the "max mpg" college project cars get.

I'm also thinking that the bee travels at lower speeds than the VW. I'm pretty sure that it can't meet the acceleration standards for the EPA test method:D.

so what is the energy equivilant of 1 gal of Gas to X gal(s) of Honey? Anyone??

I may have to convert my truck to run on Honey. I could even add a honey bee hive in the back, so it would be self sustaining.

I found a .090 g weight for a worker bee. .2 g is probably a queen.

Scaling that up to a real car's weight, like a 1000 kg (2200 lb.) Scion xB, 4,704,281 bee mpg = 2.36 car mpg.
