Hi All:
___We have discussed this in the past but yesterday was one of those days that simply slap you across the face and say WTF?
___My nephew is 16, had his license for a total of 3 months and is not only a good student but a pretty responsible young man. His grandfather bought him a Chevrolet Colorado w/ the 3.5L V6. I did not approve knowing he cannot afford the fuel, the insurance, or the car but that was all provided for him. Just knowing that car accidents are the number one killer of teenagers sends chills down my spine. I made my thoughts known to my sister and let it go at that … He was out with his girl friend last night in the rain coming home from a stationary store that he just had to get some supplies for a school project at 09:00 PM at night.

___They were southbound making a left and pulled in front of an oncoming/northbound GM panel Van which was estimated to be traveling around 55 mph with the right of way on a 55 mph limited roadway just before the accident. They were both taken to a local hospital by ambulance and no long term injuries came of it thankfully. For their sakes, the van had some time to slow before hitting them, it was one of those types of vans that had the large square front ends which appears to have distributed the impact across a much broader area of the truck as well as top to bottom into the door bracing so intrusion was at a minimum vs. a typical SUV and it appears to have hit them to the rear of the front passenger side door first.
___Just a few links some may want to revisit.
