View Full Version : Week of January 18th - January 24th (Nat Avg $2.75) Right Lane Cruiser 01-18-2010, 08:49 AM Happy MLK day! PaleMelanesian 01-18-2010, 09:33 AM I'm at work. :( 66 mpg this morning, 40F and VERY foggy / humid. I needed my wipers to clear the windshield for most of the trip. Tank still sits at 64.6 / 752 miles now. I'll have to fill soon. I was hoping for a 65 tank, but rainy driving on the weekend dashed those hopes. Die2self 01-18-2010, 01:15 PM Your not the only one Andrew :( PaleMelanesian 01-18-2010, 01:22 PM I went out for lunch. 55 degrees, then 60 coming back 56.2 mpg / 3.8 miles there 77.1 mpg / 3.9 miles back Guess where the wind was, and where the warmup hit was... ;) JusBringIt 01-18-2010, 02:08 PM work here too, this isn't one of the paid holidays... 6.8mi @ 27.9mpg into work. A lot of standing water/slush on the road from last night's snow/freezing rain though. 43.4mpg for 22.1 miles from home to the gym. Tried out a new way there and took a wrong turn, so i had to backtrack a little. 43.5mpg for 22.7 miles back home. Took the original way back but there was a lot of traffic on the highway. Tank average is down to 44.4mpg now. diamondlarry 01-18-2010, 03:45 PM The temperature was pretty much the same all day at 28F and the wind was W@ 5 mph. 63.6 19.0-to coffee and wife's work and back home 69.1 19.2-to wife's work and back Average for today was 66.3 mpg. Filled up. 762 miles, 11.3 gallons = 67.4 mpg! Scangauge was saying 64.6 mpg, but I had 300 miles of highway. I think my calibration is not right for highway, but dead on for my commute. I'm glad it was wrong in the direction it was! ;) On the new tank, temps in the 50's and 60's: 44 / 1.4 miles for an errand 83.3 / 11.9 mi home, nicely warmed up 78.4 / 10.7 this morning. I entered the wrong set of numbers for the return trip home this morning. I have the revised numbers below. The temperature was 28F this morning and we reached a high of 34F this afternoon. Winds were WSW@ 5 mph with gusts to 10+ mph. 67.6 8.9-to coffee shop 64.9 10.8-on to wife's work then home 69.9 19.3-to wife's work and back home 72.6 8.3-to daughter's voice lesson 64.0 8.2-back home Average for today was 68.0 mpg Right Lane Cruiser 01-20-2010, 07:57 AM 20F (8F windchill), 12mph head/crosswind from the E, overcast: 80.8mpg for 22.7mi (Home to work) The tank is back up to 74.2mpg over 572.5mi with 6 of 20 bars remaining on the fuel gauge. Skwyre7 01-20-2010, 08:08 AM My mileage has been down lately. I've been taking more frequent short trips, using a different gas station, and had a spell of cold weather. I was in need of an oil change, and finally got that on Monday. Tuesday morning I checked my tires after they were rotated. 48 psi all around (normally run about 58, so I need to fix that), except one tire was at 26 psi! I can't see anything in it, so I pumped it up this morning to about 44 psi and will check it in a few hours. I may be in need of a patch or a new tire. At least I have an excuse as to why my mileage was down. I was getting a little worried I was losing my skill. :D JusBringIt 01-20-2010, 08:12 AM 6.9mi @ 33.4mpg PaleMelanesian 01-20-2010, 08:15 AM Temps in the mid-60's. I had 28F this morning and we reached a high of 34F this afternoon. The wind was pretty stiff and was E@ 10-20 mph with gusts to 30 mph; basically a 90° crosswind all day.:( 67.1 19.2-RT to wife's work and back home 46.6 2.0-to lunch 59.8 1.9-back home 67.2 19.2-RT to pick wife up and back home Average for today was 65.4 mpg. The fill up average was 44.4mpg over 457.6 miles. The tank average is currently sitting at 35.7mpg.
