Hello Everyone,

I purchased a Ford Fusion Hybrid last week and was searching for ways to improve my MPG, when I found this site. I drive about 80 miles round trip everyday, about 90% is HWY, in stop and go traffic.

Anyway, I am trying to learn how to drive more efficiently. I have always had cars that could move and I drove the heck out of them. I am hoping to learn a lot from this site.

Yes you have a heck of a hybrid with the FFH. There are some folks on this site with them, that can really help you out. It really shouldnt take you to long to start to see you mpg improve with a car like yours. Congrats on the FFH purchase, im seriously jelous right now!

Thanks for the replies, the best MPG I was able to get was on the way home yesterday the cars computer said I averaged 43. That was mostly stop and go. I haven't had to fill-up yet so I haven't done a real reading. I did put 600 miles on the car this week and still have about 1/4 of a tank left.

Chuck, I live north of Mckinney in Van Alstyne...

That's about 25 miles or so northeast of me on Hwy 121.

We have had hypermiling meets in the past and I haven't a clue as to when the next one might be but I'll invite you when we do it next!

At the very least is the Live Green in Plano in April.

No formal classes, but when we meet, we occasionally do clinics.

I will just keep practicing, until then. This hard as I've always had such a heavy foot. I am about to go drive without shoes to see if it helps. LOL
