I have noticed over the past while that my glides are noticeably longer when my engine is cold and the RPMs are around 1500. At first I thought it my imagination, but after some tests it seems as though even when I am in N there is still some connection from the engine to the wheels. I have put the car in drive, just get rolling and then go right to N. Not gaining more than about 3-4 MPH per my GPS. I will continue to accelerate up to about 9 MPH on a nearly level road.

Thoughts?

I notice the same thing.
I entire a downhill with Cold Engine in N speed was 35Mph.
I speed up down it, but quite quickly I lose speed coming out of it.

While with a warm engine/Transmission the same hill in N allows a bit longer glide time without switching into D.
