Toyota of Australia launched a new TV commercial to support the company’s ongoing commitment to Hybrid Synergy Drive technology.
The ad was created by Saatchi and Saatchi in Sydney and focuses on Hybrid Synergy DriveŽ as the seamless unification of a petrol engine and electric motor.
The ad depicts a man who has another version of himself, helping him with whatever he is doing. The two work together in perfect harmony, achieving amazing efficiency and power.
It is a clever metaphor for Hybrid Synergy DriveŽ technology, which continues to improve, produce more power and use less fuel with fewer emissions.
The commercial went to air on the evening of Sunday, 25 October and with Toyota well into pre-production of locally-made Camry Hybrid, Hybrid Synergy Drive will become just as much an icon in Australia as it is throughout the rest of the world.
The Camry Hybrid is due in showrooms in February 2010 with the more powerful third-gen Prius launched in the Australian automotive marketplace earlier this year.
David Buttner, Toyota Australia's senior executive director sales and marketing, welcomed the presence of other brands’ hybrid vehicles at the show, saying they vindicated Toyota’s commitment to hybrid over the past 40 years.
