I had a difference lapse this Saturday.

Returning from Ft Worth and missed the exit to I35W, then Hwy114, wasting 20 miles. :o

The 82mpg run was effectively about 60mpg

Some years ago I switched from my regular car to rental car (white) to rental car (green) within a few days and searched for the 1st rental for an embarrassingly long time in a parking deck before I recovered from my way to early Alzheimer episode.

Tip: Always rent a white car, if someone scuffs the paint it can be more easily retouched before returning, with a spray can of close or if your lucky an exact paint match from an auto store. Just saying. ;) - Dale
