View Full Version : Bombed!
Chuck 10-29-2006, 08:57 PM I have been parking under a tree so avoid some of the sunlight - and A/C use.
The drawback is birds tend to "bomb" as they takeoff from trees. :o
Friday, I don't know what happened, but the birds made the surface of my car look like cat liter was all over it. :(
Went ahead and filled up and got a car wash...
tbaleno 10-29-2006, 09:11 PM I've had that happen twice this year. Just before fall. Birds are filling their tummies and marking their territory
TonyPSchaefer 10-29-2006, 09:33 PM They know what they're doing.
Oh yes. They know.
Chuck 10-29-2006, 09:40 PM If it was OK to take her to work it would come to an end... :p

Mewdonna
TonyPSchaefer 10-30-2006, 01:25 PM Looks like Mewdonna will do anything to get to that C++ Programming book.
DebbieKatz 11-03-2006, 09:32 AM Delta,
I feel your pain. Last Saturday night, we were in downtown Milwaukee to see the Capitol Steps, & the attendant at the lot where we parked told me to take a space that was under a tree. Not a problem, I thought, until we came back after the show - the tree was full of birds, & the front half of my poor car was full of bird-p**p:eek: And apparently this was a mulberry tree, so it was *purple* bird-p**p:(
It took me 2 car washes & lot of extra (but gentle) scrubbing to get it off the next day:mad:
Incidentally (better late than never), I loved the link to Mewdonna's story. Is she a rescue? She certainly looks happy w/you!

She was in cage #13 (honest) at the Lewisville Texas Animal Shelter in 2003. Had to have gloves to pull her out. Strange - looks purebred Turkish Angora - yet acted feral

This is her "big sister" that also has mood swings :D http://www.bigcat.org/cats/showcat.asp?cat=sabrina

I've helped out at a couple of shelters, & been amazed at some of the ferals that our rescuers would bring in. My Woolly-Willy looks like a show-quality Manx, but he & his litter-mate Happy (RIP 3/98) were feral kittens rescued from a field across from the foster-mom's house.
They were so afraid of me when I brought them home, but if I lay down on the floor, they would come up to me - I guess I didn't look as big & scarey that way!
And it's so wonderful when you hear that first purr, & the fear in their eyes turns to love & trust :) :) :)

Sabrina is beautiful! Mood swings must be putting it mildly :p Is this your site, or do you sponsor her in some way? Either way, you've made me decide to contact the friend who used to go with me to a nearby shelter & walk dogs while I helped clean cages & cuddle kitties, & see if we can't get back to our regular Saturday morning volunteering :)
Chuck 11-03-2006, 11:07 AM I do have a forum, but it's on life-support.
After some badgering, I started it, but the pet lovers that pested it talked about everything but pets. :(
My plan is when I can get a list of pet lovers, to invite them all at once and jumpstart it.
