I recently purchased SC and after first fill up I did not do anything other than hitting "DONE" and "saving" in the Fill UP option.
Second fill-up I entered gallons as 27 which is the tank size though I still had 10 gallons inthe tank so the total amount I purchased was 17 gallons. I did not know how to undo it so I let it until 3rd refill at which time I entered purchased which again happened to be 17 gallons.
so reduced currently shown gallons to lower amount which 17 gallons but now when I look it a it shows a negative amount available and looks confusing.
How to reset it? or perhaps reset the entire unit?

So if I understand right, you accidentally set the fillup to 27 gallons instead of 17, wich would have screwed up the offset. Is that correct? If so, I think that the best approach is to adjust the offset manually back to something reasonable. (I can't remember if that requires a fillup operation or not. I just remember that it can be done.) I'm willing to bet that it's just still out of whack from the first fillup.

___On your next fill, go in and reset with a 0% offset. Hit done, and go back and adjust it again to 0%. On the next fill after that, you can input your actual vs. calculated and the calibration begins in earnest.

Let get this right Wayne.
after 1st fill-up set it to 0% hit DONE.
after 2nd fill-up set it to 0% hit DONE again.
and at 3rd - fill-up enter teh actual gallons put?
Basically reset to 0% after 1 or 2 fill-ups?

___Not quite. Hit 0 if you blew it on the first fill. From that top off, drive, fill up again at some future date and at that fill, you will have an actual. If the SG-II said you consumed 10.7 gallons but you really consumed 11.2, insert 11.2. Now you have your first calibration offset. Continue on the next and the next and the next fill(s) and you will find an offset that matches your vehicle, your driving habits and the type of fuel you use over a given period. Continue to perform the calibrations however as Colder temperature see the offsets increase while warmer ones see them decrease. A continuous calibration from your last tank will keep your SG-II and you honest over the next tank.
