Awhile ago I installed a Fram Sure Drain on my HCH II. I'd like to get one for my new I2 and they use the same size, though I discarded the package and don't know which Sure Drain to order (SD1, SD2?). Does anyone know what size Sure Drain the later-model Hondas use?
Thanks!
Mike
Hi Mike:
___Did you pick these up form your local Autozone, PepBoys or somewhere else? I am not a Sure drain fan but the benefits interests me?

I like the Sure Drain simply b/c of less mess when changing oil. It's a valve that opens when a plastic tube drain tube is attached. There's also a cap for the treads to cover them and protect from damage. With 0W-20 oil, the slow down in draining is minimal. Also, if you're someone who likes to do UOAs it's easy to obtain a small sample. They're a fraction of the cost of a Fumoto as well.

I looked up the product. It says the threads for the HCHII is M14- 1.5. which is the SD2. Funny thing - the Fram catalog on Amazon says it won't fit the Honda Civic.
I may try one. Sometimes I get messy when chaning my oil. this looks like a clean solution.

After reading all the posts on other forums about the Sure Drain, I decided to buy the Fumoto oil drain system. it seems that it will be a better deal in the long run for both my cars (HCHII and HiHy). It looks like I can drain it with the oil a bit warmer, too which should help evacuate any gunk in the pan.
