(2) Audi R15 TDI’s lead most of the race in heavy rain at Road Atlanta yesterday.
American Le Mans series - The 1000 mile race "Petit Le Mans" at Road Atlanta (had to be called after less then five of the scheduled ten hours due to torrential rains. Audi dominated the opening stages of the race leading 167 of the 184 laps completed. When the red flag came out, however, Audi Sport Team Joest’s two Audi R15 TDI prototypes were running in third and fourth positions and that is the positions they were awarded.
As a small consolation the Audi squad won the "Michelin GreenX Challenge" which was awarded to the most environmentally friendly and efficient car.
