Hi Wayne:
Trying to install some HID headlight bulbs into the BondMobile. Thought 40% less electrical power draw might be worth the effort. Man, it has turned into a bit of a project!
Anyway, I'm taking a breather from the HID job to tell you about yesterday. The wife's sister came for a visit with one of her kids, and we went to Busch Gardens for a day of walking around, standing in 40 minute lines for 3 minute roller coaster rides and getting ripped off for food and drink. ;) So the park has announced they are going to close a 'coaster called "The Big Bad Wolf". Cutting edge as far as coasters goes when it was put in service 25 years ago. The boys begged me to go for a ride with them on it, so against my 54 year old judgement, I relented. I was wearing the CleanMPG hat you gave me when we met at HybridFest. (My favorite hat BTW) So we all load up into the cars, my oldest boy next to me and the youngest, Logan, behind me with his cousin. I snugged my hat down onto my head before takeoff. We start off barreling down, and up, upside down and every which way. I periodically put my hand on the hat just in case, but at one point, well, the negative G's got the best of me. I inadvertantly tipped my head up for a brief moment and then - whoosh! - the cap was ripped from my head and it was gone with the wind. I caught a glimpse of water under the track just as we came screaming down the track, and I could just imagine my cap hitting the water as we streaked up into the sky on the other side of the ascending track. I couldn't believe it, my favorite hat - gone. I was kicking my self for being so stupid as the ride continued to whip us around in all kinds of jolting directions. I was still processing the loss of the hat, all the experiences when I wore it and all that when we reached the end of the ride. Just then I heard one of the kids say something about "catching it". And then:"Wow Logan, you just reached up and grabbed it - that was awsome!"
I'm thinking: "What is this? "
I turned around in my seat as far as the constraints would allow, and asked: "What did you say?" My youngest boy reached up and handed my cap back ! :woot::woot:
I was just dumbfounded, elated, :woot:I don't know what else.
But I sure was glad to have that cap you gave me back, that's for sure!
I'll have to come up with a special reward for Logan. :)
Thanks,
Bob
