Best Buy's #11 - All-electric Brammo bike shown.

Although we reported on the 2009 Isle of Man TTXGP event well over two months ago, eGrandPrix.tv has an excellent short video giving us a unique feel and flavor of the event that I am sure many a CleanMPG’er will love to watch :)

A total of 13 all-electric race bikes were in hand as the flag dropped on the first of many more TTXGP’s to come. An American, Tom Montano riding for Mission Motors was the first to take the green flag in the inaugural all-electric motorcycle race taking on the 37.73-mile mountain course.

"Today represents the culmination of an incredibly long journey to the world's first zero carbon eGrandPrix,” said Azhar Hussain, founder of the TTXGP. “The teams, riders and all those involved in making this event possible have worked tirelessly to make the TTXGP the reality it has become today. Together we have proved that zero carbon transport technology has the capability to thrill motor racing fans and is ready for application in the real world."

The all-electric Team Agni machine ridden by Rob Barber took the checkered flag with an impressive single lap time of 25 minutes 53.5 seconds and an average speed of 87.434 mph.

XXL Racing's Thomas Schoenfelder took the runner up spot at 29 minutes 04.93 seconds with an average speed of 77.841 mph while Mark Buckley, riding the all-electric Brammo machine, was third at 30 minutes 02.64 seconds averaging 75.350 mph.

Great video! I almost wish there was no music so I could hear more of the sounds the bikes make.
