2010 Lexus HS 250h - $35,000 to start and 35 mpgUS combined on the 08 EPA. And of course worth a lot more when driven as each of us know how too :)

Torrance, CA. -- The 2010 Lexus HS 250h will be available later this summer and is the world’s first luxury car available with only a hybrid drivetrain. It will include a Prius like driving experience w/ absolute luxury like none other, and customers are hoping to win some time behind the wheel in the DriveHS (drivehs.com) promotion.

Customers are posting their profiles and a statement about why people should vote for them on Drive HS (DriveHS.com), then encouraging their friends, family, and even strangers, to vote for them. The top vote-getter will get a one-year lease of a HS 250h, a weekend at a Fairmont Resort and a Lexus Hybrid Living gift package. The other top 100 vote-getters will get a week-long drive of the HS and a Lexus Hybrid Living gift package.

Additionally, every person who submits a vote will be entered into a random drawing to also win the use of an HS for a year.

“There’s no other luxury car like the HS 250h hybrid and we know that people who get behind the wheel will be amazed by its innovation, luxury and sustainability,” said Dave Nordstrom, Lexus vice president of marketing. “This promotion is an opportunity to introduce people to the HS and it gets them excited about the possibility of driving it.”

To showcase the promotion, Nordstrom is featured in a video on DriveHS (drivehs.com) that explains the promotion, urges customers to sign up, and gives some tips on how to generate votes. Some of the ideas include hosting a voting party, joining facebook.com/lexus to do some campaigning, and posting a video on YouTube.

Response to the contest has been strong, with the winners being determined when the contest closes in just 3 days on the 31.

I have been contemplating how I am going to get out to the LA for the LA Autoshow Press Event this fall and this shameless request for votes and selling the Accord may be just the ticket?

Your vote enters you into the contest for prizes and is being accepted at the following link: Wayne Gerdes: HS 250h – Lexus going hybrid in a big way. (http://www.drivehs.com/vote/111113)

Hi All:

I am interested in the Lexus HS 250h because it allows the luxury car buyer to drive a vehicle they are accustomed to while at the same time reducing fuel consumption and emissions which is the best idea of all!

For those that know me, stretching the Lexus HS 250h’s fuel economy further to reduce our dependence on foreign oil is a given :)

Edit out the typo and I'll add a vote. ;-)

(It's an understandable typo. Hypermilers are always thinking ahead...)

what typo? :)

... accustomed to(o) ...

It's immediately followed by the "while at the same time" which probably led to the typo.

I would read that again just to make sure.

Hi ItsNotAboutTheMoney:

___There are actually two of them and I have an E-Mail in for them to fix both. If I do it myself, they pull the profile for 24-hours :(

___Good Luck

And then there were 22 votes...

You have my vote along with a comment. Michael Milken said during a "Meeting of the Minds", "If we didn't have obesity and over weigh people in our country, we would save would a trillion dollars a year". I say, "If everyone drove some form of Prius, Miken's trillion would seem like a paltry amount in comparison to the fuel savings each year in the US".

Hi Linkster:

___I could not agree with you more and wish I would have said it myself :) Thanks for the vote as well!

___It will be interesting to see if CleanMPG members can beat the Facebook'ers and Twitter'ers even though many are one and the same?

___Good Luck

Hi KrazyDawg:

___Thank You.

___We cannot tell who is in the top 10 but I have been through a few hundred. Dale found the guy with 367 that I found the other day (now 372) and the next one I found was at 97 earlier this afternoon. A few in the 50's as well but there is no top ten list that any of us could find.

___Ricardo and Dale are putting the coals to the fire in the following thread: Vote for Wayne! (http://www.cleanmpg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=23905)

___Good Luck

___Wayne
