2010 Toyota Prius-III – Life Cycle Analysis Overview

The all-new 2010 European Toyota Prius-III will include a new Heads-up Display that projects key vehicle information onto the base of the windscreen, including vehicle speed, the Eco Drive Monitor and turn-by-turn navigation information, as well as the status of the optional Pre-Crash Safety and Active Cruise Control systems. Heads-up display is standard on all Prius’ including the three European trims, Prius, Prius SOL and Prius Premium.

This Heads-up display appears to come right out of the Lexus HS 250h playbook so as Toyota’s tech progresses, they are incorporating it into their latest offerings as fast as they are made available. Expect to see this feature in the US sourced 2011 Prius-III next fall.

Additionally, a rain sensing wiper system is available with the Sol and std. on the Premium.

Unfortunately, it appears that you have to take IPA (Intelligent Parking Assist) if you want NAVI. No European pricing detail was released for that option?

And what most if not all Euro vehicles now include, the Prius-III includes a manual or automatic headlight leveling system :)

The Euro Prius owner will also have an option to purchase a 15” alloy wheel and “rough tires” (whatever that means ) I have not seen a pic but anything is better than the ugly wheel covers currently shod on the 15” equipped versions versus the beautiful 17’s even with the loss of an mpg.

Additional information about their upcoming PHEV was released as well...
As with the Prius, the PHV runs on both a gasoline powered internal combustion engine and an electric motor. What sets the plug-in apart from current hybrids, however, is an increased battery capacity that enables a longer electric-only cruising range of about 6 miles, and a battery charging function that allows users to fully recharge the batteries externally, using an ordinary household electrical supply, in less than two hours.

This detail does not sound like the Euro centric Prius will include PanasonicEV’s future Li-Ion pack (10 + mile AER) but more along the lines of the dual NiMH that Toyota has been testing in the Prius-II both here in the US and in Europe?
