Hi All:

___I just went out with my parents and noticed their lower glove box’ right top corner is not matching up with the right plastic surrounds. It looks to be shifted somewhat. Anyone w/ a Prius-III have a similar ill-fitting lower glove box?

___Also, the doors when closed do not have the same heavy thunk as the previous generation. And the vent adjusters look really nice but also seem to be of a lower quality than the previous generation.

___Just a few items to consider...

___Good Luck

I'll check the glove box tomorrow when I get home from work.

The fit and finish in ours seems superior to the 08 or 05 and the door close has a nice solid feel to it. My son commented that it feels more "BMW like" and I agree. The steering and ride is great also. I got in the 08 after driving the 10 700 miles and the ride of the 08 was harsh. The patchwork color of the interior is my only complaint with quality misty grey, bisque leather and black is a "busy" color combination.

I went over the paint job with a "fine tooth comb" as I gave it a coat of Rejex and I did not find 1 flaw in the finish. The Blizzard Pearl looks outstanding. The hood to front grill and fenders is fit perfectly.

I think mine is as good im quality as my 07.

I looked at it this morning and couldn't find any fault with the fit. Joints were all smooth and with nice even spacing. Opens and closes smooth. Press it and it clicks closed.

Doors tinny? I opened and closed the drivers and passenger doors. They close with a nice firm sound like a gentle thud: No clicks, clangs or bangs. You may have gotten a "Monday" car and mine was built on Wednesday.:D

I hate bringing that up as a possibility but it makes a difference on first runs sometimes. Look at the generally minor issues w/ the '06 Civic. (Excluding those rear control arms)

Wayne's mom mentioned Toyota and Honda fixing things as they happen on the line where the big three fix stuff later. There may have been a problem on the line and they got it fixed before 400 more followed.

They are good at that method too! You'd be surprised at some of the messages I've received in the last year. Emailing everyone for something that affects less than 60 vehicles in the continent and they already know where each car is going and half end up fixed on route before the message was sent.

I love that attention to detail.

They don't do it on the truck, my car for instance made at least 6 stops on its way across N. America.

Hi Mike:

___Her lower glovebox is definitely out of alignment. Regarding the doors, they do not close with the same solid sound. It is not a loose or tinny sound, just not the solid one.

___Good Luck

You did not live with my 06 EX Civic Sedan did you. :) Learned my lesson. Never buy a first year production anything.

I agree on the doors, a disappointment. My glovebox is fine, but the upper left corner of my Nav/radio is pushed in a bit from the bezel surrounding it.

Hi Wayne:

___Thanks for the door closing comparison and proving that I am not nuts :D :D :D

___Did you take your Prius-III back in to have the radio and bezel lined up? My parents took their Prius-III out to Carmax to have the glove box lined up and they said it was normal which it is anything but... I will get a pic the next time I am over at my parents because that lower glove box corner is off at least 1/4" from the surrounding plastic dash pieces and I was surprised it made it off a Toyota line without being caught and fixed.

___Good Luck

A quick review find that mine looks much like Msirach's picture in post #5. The gaps (reveals?) around the top and bottom compartment doors do not match, with the bottom one being very noticeably wider than the top, slightly more so than in the above picture. This is most obvious around the release buttons.

Both doors are flush with the surrounding panels, but the release buttons are not. Buttons are slightly recessed, and not the same on their left and right edges.

Radio bezel looks fine. My serial number is just over 8000.

These are things I would not have noticed if not for this thread, and if I hadn't watched industrial designers evaluating prototype consumer products coming off the assembly line in China.

HI Fuzzy! Mine is not out of alignment. Joints are smooth and gaps are even. No complaints from me on alignment.

Not yet, I'm waiting until I install my factory alarm system and have them turn it on at the same time.

Hi All:

___My father filled the Prius-III for the first time two weeks ago with a three click and stop. Did the same again today and the results are similar to the 2010 Prius-III preview with an unheard of 6 mpg differential between actual and the over reporting FCD...

FCD = 60.3 mpg
Actual = 439.2 miles/8.094 gallons = 54.26

___How are your actual calc's comparing to the FCD?

___Good Luck
