Took delivery of a brand new 2009 Honda Civic Hybrid last week.
Have owned a 2003-Civic Hybrid since June-2002. 4-weeks ago, I was involved in a 4-car minor accident, but to fix the car was more than what it was worth, so insurance co. has to declare it as "totaled". For the last 7 years, my 2003-Hybrid was driven for 95,590 miles @ 39.6MPG average.

It must be a big difference between 2003 and 2009! How does it compare?

Thanks y'all for the welcome. I am still getting acquainted with my 2009-HCH-II. It does some things different than the 2003-HCH-I. The HCH-II's A/C stays on during auto stop. There is no "Econ" button to manually turn auto stop off/on. The hood of the car is not on my line of sight. If the car is not warmed up, and I try to press the accelerator to speed up quickly, the IMA assist does not stay too long, and the gas engine's RPM goes up high. The IMA of the HCH-I seems to hold as long as I am pressing the accelerator. I though like the lighted digital read-outs. The adjustable seat that goes up & down. The car is heavier, and thus have an older accord-like drive. I was told by the salesman that the short antenna at the rear does not do anything. The "real" one is imbeded on the front windshield. Is this correct? My first fill up gave me actual-45.1MPG(406miles), while Trip "B" says 406-miles @ 44.1mpg. Have they adjusted the programing of the "trip meters" to be more conservative? The HCH-I trip meter's reads 2 to 5 MPG higher than actual(calculated).

The salesman is incorrect regarding the antenna.
Also, the HCH-II appears to be the only hybrid (past and present) that underestimates its fuel economy on a regular basis. Kind of unique actually.
