The glide speed (that is where the ICE will shut down) is increased to 45 MPH and below. This is a huge change, as it offers some potential for highway use.

Here is a pic.

Hi Jud;

That is exactly what Mike was telling me the other evening. He reported exactly that behavior and he confirmed that the ICE was not spinning (0 RPM) at that speed. Nice.

Anyhow, do you notice any differences in the actual vehicle drag once the glide is evoked vs what we could do before at lower speeds?

No difference is just like the Gen II except that you can glide all the way up to 45 MPH.

A higher glide speed would come in handy in some places around here. The extra 4 mph could mean the difference between making it over a hill or having to pulse at a really slow speed.

I just got in and tested glides at over 40. It would consistently enter 0 rpm ICE at 45 mph. I thought I got it once at 46 mph but I never could get it again so I guess it actually entered at 45 mph. As Jud said, it enters glides and the EV mode VERY easy. It's hard to kill the battery too. I have been running EV quite a bit and never depleted the battery yet. Charlottesville has a lot of rolling hill for streets so there is plenty of regen terrain available. I'm going to try to run on some secondary roads tomorrow and see how far EV will go if I can find a few miles flat enough.

You would think an electrical engineer would have provided a hack for this by now. (yes, I'm hinting it that direction ;) )

Hi Jud:

___Veryvery cool as this places it within reach of the FFH's capability!

___Can you shift to N to hold 0 Amps per the mimic?

___Good Luck

___Wayne

You can shift to N, but I don't know about the amps, as the xgauges don't work.

Or, to paraphrase what Wayne's asking, how 'bout warp-neutral?

Hi Jud:

___Not from X-Gauges but from the mimic. Does the ICE stay shut down at 45 and below and does the mimic go no arrow?

___Good Luck

___Wayne

Yes the ICE stays shut down at 45. It acts just like the old limit at 40. We gained another 5 MPH.

OK the mimic screen. The screen is not as usefull, but the HSI is better. In stealth, the HSI appears to act like a AMP gauge. so you can get it to zero by feathering the pedal. It is better then the old mimic screen in my opinion.

I got in a glide at 45mph this evening and got up to 55 mph with the ice at 0rpm. The display is great, but I would like to see the real amp numbers via X-gauge.

Mike was this in D or did you use N to hold the 0 RPM.

Both ways! It didn't matter. I used neutral quite a bit. My calves, ankles and feet are in pain. We moved my son from a 3rd story apartment to a 4th story apartment in one day. No elevators were the killer!

Okay, this is freakishly cool!! Warp neutral without the shift to neutral??? SWEET!! :D
