View Full Version : Fran Tarkenton rips Brett Favre
Chuck 05-29-2009, 06:09 PM “I think it’s despicable. What he put the Packers through last year was not good. Here’s an organization that was loyal to him for 17, 18 years, provided stability of organization, provided players. It just wasn’t about Brett Favre. In this day and time, we have glorified the Brett Favre’s of the world so much, they think it’s about them. He goes to New York and bombs. He’s 39 years old. How would you like Ray Nitschke in his last year (playing for) the Vikings, or I retire, and go play for the Packers. I kind of hope it happens, so he can fail.” Rest of article (http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/blog/shutdown_corner/post/Fran-Tarkenton-will-not-be-welcoming-Brett-Favre?urn=nfl,166234)
ILAveo 05-30-2009, 01:36 AM Fran needs to chill and get a little perspective. The NFL has made big business out of grown men playing a child's game. With so little at stake it is hard to see how choosing one side over another could really be all that despicable.
psyshack 05-30-2009, 10:03 AM As a Vikes fan. True Purple!
We do not need Favre or his vendetta against our enemy the Pack. We need to focus on our own franchise qb,,, and Jackson is not it.
In a perfect world I would say throw the season then get slinging Sammy next year. Those Sooners make good Vikings. Don't want DaBears to get him yeah know. :)
Chuck 06-16-2009, 01:38 PM NFL: Favre decision weeks away (http://nbcsports.msnbc.com/id/31373690/ns/sports-nfl/)
Have Regis to ask him: "Is that you're final decision?"
Blackbelt 06-17-2009, 08:23 AM Favre is just an attention whore.
laurieaw 06-17-2009, 08:26 AM as a minnesotan who gets to hear this over and over ad naseum.....who gives a fickle, flying rat's a$$.......overpaid babies
booferama 06-17-2009, 09:38 AM Favre is just an attention whore.
Yep--you nailed it.
Chuck 07-29-2009, 11:24 AM Favre decides to save us the soap opera and stay retired (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/writers/don_banks/07/28/favre/index.html?bcnn=yes).
Thank you.
worthywads 07-29-2009, 01:05 PM Damn, I'd been predicting how many interceptions my Packer secondary would pick off of Favre in their 2 meetings. Not to mention sacks. :D

Chuck 08-18-2009, 12:37 PM My condolences to Minnesota: Brett Favre heads to Minnesota Vikings (http://www.wdam.com/Global/story.asp?S=10948310)
Right Lane Cruiser 08-18-2009, 12:55 PM Oh good grief. Why doesn't this guy just stop??
Chuck 08-18-2009, 03:15 PM Considering a half-decade of I'm retired/I'm back Brett, this video is dedicated to him.
In fact, when Green Bay hosts Minnesota I suggest they play this tune.
("You change your mind, like a girl changes clothes..."). :p

I just don't know. As a life long Vike's fan I have mixed feelings about this. While I think our Viking's is a better team than the Jets. He was floundering his last two years in the Tundra.
We need a franchise QB. If Booty isn't it. Then we need to get one before our current talent is wasted for not.
On a high note,,, I think we will have a good season no matter who is the QB. Remember Moon and George. Not good QB's. But we had good season's with them under center.
I refuse to get hyped over Farve. We have been to the big dance and never won.
IMHO we should have went after Vick for heap cheap money. Atleast he could run the wildcat. Remember him burning our D? Them darn dirty birds. :)
SKOL!!!!!
Chuck 08-18-2009, 09:57 PM Brett Favre has safely secured one passing record (http://www.pro-football-reference.com/leaders/pass_int_career.htm) for some time to come.
