In case anyone hasn't heard, Ford is sponsoring a promotional event for the FFH this weekend in the Washington, DC area. You can get details from the press release below.

1,000 mile + weekend for charity about to begin (http://www.cleanmpg.com/forums/showthread.php?p=202955)

Wayne's writeup of what's planned can be found here:

Ford's 2010 Fusion Hybrid in a Challenge Marathon drive for Charity (http://www.cleanmpg.com/forums/showthread.php?p=201414)

So why am I bringing your attention to this? I'll be in the area and will be stopping by to learn about the Fusion Hybrid and take a driving clinic with Wayne. This is a unique opportunity for me, and I want to share with the forum membership as best I can. It sounds like I'll have access to some designers and engineers that worked on the Fusion. What do you want to know about the FFH? What elusive (or obvious) details haven't been covered in the myriad of reviews so far?

Post your questions!
If you like someone else's question, say so. I don't know how many I'll be able to ask, and I'll take the most popular from this thread.
If you know the answer to someone's question, post it so I won't waste time covering old news.
I'll check this thread up until about 6 am this Saturday (the 25th).

Can you ask them about this:
The Ford Fusion Hybrid is a great car, why if ford only making 25,000 this year?
Toyota sold 158,884 prius's last year.

Got it, peteostro.

Help me out, people. I could use some more hypermiler-oriented questions. In addition to the above, I plan to ask:

BSFC on the gas engine. Where's the fuel economy sweet spot on an Atkinsonized engine?

What mechanical aspect of the vehicle are they most proud of?

When doing aerodynamic testing, which tweak or feature had the most surprising impact on drag?

When do they plan on putting their hybrid system into other vehicles (ie Focus)?

Is there a planned path (and retrofit possibilities) to PHEV for the Fusion? Why the 17", 50 series tires as opposed to lower rolling resistance types?

FAS Capable?

I can answer that one -- up to 47mph, sure. Use foot position in the warmed up car. ;) That's good enough for all I do with the small exception of warm up P&G.

yea... I was in it today no need for FAS.
It turns off on its own once you shift to N.

I've got a Q&A session I'm typing up, but it won't be done until tomorrow night. Thanks for the additional questions!

Q&A with some of the engineers that brought us the FFH (http://www.cleanmpg.com/forums/showthread.php?p=203875&postcount=3) is post #3 in my thread on my experiences at the Fusion Hybrid 1,000 mile challenge event.

My '05 FEH has a much higher MTE (miles to empty) after a great MPG tank of gas than my '09 FEH. I've broke over 700 miles on a single tank of gas more than a few times and the MTE will not go over 699 MTE after a fill. Since we now see a 1445.7 mile tank, what did the max MTE read after that tank. Ford under estimated my '09 FEH with 699 max MTE, did they do the same in the FFH?

Hi Gary:

___I drove the Challenge vehicle home from DC to Detorit after topping it off for the Challenge final calc. For about 100 miles, it read 990 miles DTE IIRC?

___Good Luck

Thanks Wayne

I figured 999 miles would be the limit because over 1,000 would be 4 digits. I can't believe Ford lowered the '09 FEH MTE when it gets better mileage than the '05.
