2009 BMW F 800 GS Dual Sport - $10,520.

Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany -- From July 3rd - 5th, Garmisch-Partenkirchen will be transformed into the Mecca of BMW motorcycle fans. BMW motorcyclists and visitors will meet for the ninth annual BMW Motorrad Days gathering.

Over 34,000 visitors found their way to the BMW sponsored Motorrad Days last year and numerous riders and bike brands of all types are expected again this year.

With a picturesque mountain backdrop, the world’s biggest motorcycle meet is again packed with entertainment.

One of the highlights is Team BMW’s Motorrad Motorsport which is entering the World Superbike Championship with the racing version of the S 1000 RR. The serial production version of the S 1000 RR will be presented to the general public for the very first time at BMW’s Motorrad Days.

In the Freestyle Area, motorcycling acrobat Chris Pfeiffer will be demonstrating his skills with spectacular stunts. He never ceases to fascinate visitors with his fast trick combinations – a talent which won him the Indoor Streetbike Freestyle World Championship for the third time in succession.

The world's best enduro riders such as Andreas Lettenbichler and Juha Salminen will be roaring around the so-called “x-track”, providing spectacular off-road motorcycling entertainment.

In addition to test rides on current BMW Motorrad models through the beautiful surroundings of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, there will also be a large-scale motorcycle parade on Saturday for all those interested and a classic parade on Sunday, starting and finishing at the Hausberg site.

This year there will be women's tours designed especially for female riders, organized by a lady tour guide and on BMW motorcycles - including lowering sets if requested.

Once again, BMW motorcycles will be available at the popular 10,000 square meter Enduro park and five experienced instructors will be providing free training sessions here throughout the entire weekend.

By popular request, will be entertained at band “Blechblos’n” on Friday and “Gary and Gerry and their used underwear” on Saturday. On Friday evening the barn will be rocking with the Austrian party band “Dreirad”, followed by alternative rock from Portugal the next day with “Switha's Band”. Hot sounds from the turntable are promised by DJ Moorat, and Gitty Fisher will inspire country and rock & roll fans on both evenings with her unplugged performances. Solo guitarist Byron will provide classy chill-out sounds at the Fire Ground.

There will be exciting and informative entertainment from motorcycle adventurer Michael Martin, who has been on countless expeditions through all the world’s deserts. As part of his “Travel Surgery” at the US Lodge he will not just be giving insights into his latest project "Planet Desert" but also valuable tips for all those planning a motorcycle trip to remote countries.

The raffle will give fans with the luck of the draw the chance to win a BMW F 800 R on Friday evening and a BMW F 800 GS on Saturday evening.

Like Sturgis in South Dakota, what bike enthusiast would not want to take part in the world’s largest bike gathering in Germany :)

This year's North American BMW MOA rally will be in Eastern Tennessee July 16 - 19:

It is for BMW riders and their guests.

There are some great riding roads nearby and I should try to get down there.

BMW bike rallies are fun. Any rally is a good excuse for a road trip. At a rally, suddenly BMW bikers are the majority, instead of the minority. You get to meet interesting people, many of whom have ridden incredibly long distances to visit the rally site.

That one in Germany would be great, but my circumstances dictate a more modest goal: the rally in Tennesee.
