Trying to find a hit, Detroit is reintroducing muscle cars. I guess it beats jumbo SUVs.....

and at least they LOOK a lot cooler.

My heart does jump a bit as I drive past the Dodge dealer lately. Can I get that Charger in FFV trim?

There've been a number of articles lately about wagons making a potential comeback too- now that a generation has been reared without them, the uncool stigma has shifted squarely to the minivan, and soon to the SUV (not soon enough). Nobody wants to drive the car they were raised in. I routinely see high schoolers in my neighborhood NOT driving Mom's or Dad's Tahoe, opting for the other car in the driveway- usually a sedan. Of course that may be parental discretion as well.

Detroit just refuses to call them station wagons...its the Magnum, ot the Malibu Maxx.

I think Ford could score big with a hybrid Mustang and blow up the perception hybrids are puny forever.

Hi Chuck and Bryan:

___If Detroit would bring us the upcoming Camaro or Charger w/ a full hybrid setup, I think they could change the world! I don’t even mind if they have a really hot motor as long as the car is tuned to shut that big ICE down at every opportunity and run in EV or when its running, charge that pack like it thinks it’s a serial hybrid! I know, I have about 3 wishes in that statement that will never bare fruit ;)

If Honda wont put a 5MT in a HCH II and rear disc brakes, Or update the Insight, I doubt Mopar or Ford are going to do there muscle cars right. :)

Hi Psy:

___Having loved the new Mustangs exterior but then driving it later on, I quickly realized there was a problem in Detroit. I doubt either GM or DCC will do their muscle cars right either but I can dream ;)

Just a quick comment. How many realize that the 400 HP Vette with a 6-SP. Auto-Trans is rated at 28 MPG HWY. Not bad for a 170 MPH Super Car.

Yeah, yeah. That's 'cuz you're practically idling at 70mph. The problem is, in a car like that it takes a LOT of discipline to not jackrabbit the starts! And there goes that 28mpg out the window.

It is impressive, though.
